The Elite Showcase Tournament began today in the fog and 32 degree weather! The Heat 09's played at the Hickory Crawdads Stadium and had a super day. Great pitching and a BUNCH of hitting resulted in about 20 runs scored and I think only 3 given up. Great day for the 09's! Don't know a lot of details but had a great time at a great venue!

    Great Weekend!

The 09 Heat ended up the weekend 4-0 and playing their best tournament of the fall. I was even told I could come back since they did win with me there!

Game 1 Heat 09's vs Carolina Stingers 18's Heat won 9-1

Game 2 Heat 09's vs Carolina Pride won 11-1

Game 3 Heat 09's vs Ontario Nationals (Canada) won 9-5

Game 4 Heat 09's vs MVP Baseball won 16-0

Not positive about the scores but just illustrating the hitting and pitching were awesome. Wish we were playing a couple more!

I am positive I will leave someone important out but I will try..

Game 1 Heat 09's vs Carolina Stingers 18's Heat won 9-1
Jeff Howell threw a complete game.
    Most everyone hit.

Game 2 Heat 09's vs Carolina Pride won 11-2
Dustin Myers started and Austin Trice relieved.
    Most everyone hit.

Game 3 Heat 09's vs Ontario Nationals (Canada) won 9-5.
Tyler Coyle started and was relieved by Brantley Blalock.
    Most everyone hit..

Game 4 Heat 09's vs MVP Baseball won 16-0
Ryan Glover threw a complete game.
    Guess what!!! Really... everyone hit!

Sorry, I don't think anyone kept a book. We tried to keep it in the dirt. I apologize for any mistakes and not knowing all the hitting stats. Maybe someone else does.

Does anyone know how all the other teams did this weekend there?

Sure seems like a lot of lopsided scores. Did these (Elite Showcase) teams that got thumped by the Heat do better in their other games? I know it's possible to get beat up every once in a while. I remember losing a minor league game 19-0 but I wondered what the overall caliber of play was compared to the other teams the Heat compete with more regularly like On Deck, Megastars, Panthers, etc.......

The Heat really beat up on these teams.

I have no idea how everyone else done. The DB's or SCP were not there. If they were I am sure there wouldn't have been the blowouts. On Deck was there I think but I am not sure who they played.. There were a lot of players done for the year I am sure and others at the Impact Showcase. This Showcase was supposed to be last weekend but due to rain was moved.

The tourney was scheduled for last weekend and had 22 teams in it. When it was rained out it dropped to 14 teams this weekend. Plus going up against the Belmont Abbey event was a no win situation. Too many kids needed to be there.

However before the rainout not all of the top area teams were entered. It would be good for everyone to see more teams enter each others events.
