I have had to really look at this before. Not only do you have to reside here. If you are under 18 I belive you most have a guardian and they must be family or other legal appointed. A friend has a dauthger that goes to Clemmson and before she can quailfy for in state tution. She has to show she earns enough money to pay her tution and other expenses first. Guess what dad is still paying.

Guys, we don't make the rules and we don't enforce them. In every one of these situations the people that are involved have all the facts. Personally, I'll leave it up to them.

Well, that ain't exactly my point. I was referring to the fact that not all of our posters are brothers "Amen brother"...some are sisters.

But I'm glad I was able to help re-direct to other family members:laugh4: That's one angle that's never been brought up before.

Right or wrong, most people are not in it for the coach, their team or their community. Many believe you need to look after #1 first. Not saying I agree or disagree but I respect 100% a family's right to do what they think is right for them.

BTW, what about the coach that hurts the heart of the kid? What about the program that hurts the kid? That knife cuts both ways.

Sometimes I think some people may be selfish. A good player transfers and the team he left behind is too worried about how it may impact them. Instead, if they are true friends they would be hoping for the best for their friend.

I dunno know about that, but I can certainly say if I was from Observer's area, it wouldn't matter what school my son attended, he was going to play for Pete Hardee even if I had to move into Pete's doghouse out back.

It has nothing to do with exposure or friends or community. It has everything to do with having my son being mentored by one of the best coach's in the state. What he will learn and how he is being developed goes way beyond just baseball. Yep...I would move my family for that opportunity.

I find it interesting that soemone would make a school choice based on athletics, seems the priorites need to be evaluated. I'm sure there are exceptions to this thinking, but if they can play they will be found and most baseball recruiting/getting noticed is done in the summer anyway. I've seen many times where a home schooled kid, kid from a small private school or academy that doesn't even have the sport signs. I think there was a kid at On Deck a few years back that was in a specialty school that didn't have baseball and he signed. Again, what are the priorities? What is the message being sent? For most kids sports at the next level just opens up opportunities they may not otherwise have had. Very few will take it past that. As the sport at the next level will use them, they should in turn use the sport to gain the best access for the rest of their life.
