    Another NLI to Belmont Abbey

Nate Cudney, a senior '08 left handed pitcher (Myers Park High School), signed a NLI today and will be playing college baseball at Belmont Abbey too. He is looking forward to playing for Coach Smith and Coach Anderson and meeting all the guys on the team next year.

Nate will be finishing up his 3-year varsity reign at Myers Park in the tough SW4A this coming spring. He also participated in the NC State Games this past June and played for the first place legion team at Charlotte Post 262 this past summer. Nate understands the importance of being a team player and is thankful for the relationship he has with his high school coach Bobby Simmons, his travel baseball coach Jeff McNeely (Megastars) and his summer legion coach Greg Clewis.

Super! Your son made a great decision. Tyler (Junior) loves BA. If we can be any help in the transition, feel free to contact us.

Way to go Nate....good luck with your upcoming Senior season, can't wait to catch some of your games at BA next year.....

Brian, congrats to you and the family, I know you guys are proud. It seems just like yesterday when Nate was a skinny kid filling in as a sub for the Diamondbacks.

Another outstanding recruit for BA. Congratulations to Nate and his family. Wow...two brothers playing baseball and going to college at the same time at the same school. Brian, time to start looking for that 2nd job:scholar:

Would those of you who know classify the conference that Belmont Abbey plays in as a strong conference? How is the pitching from the opposing teams?

The conference's name changed this year to Conference Carolinas. I'm not an expert, but I think most agree it's a solid D2 conference. But it's not considered the top rung.

My feel is that CC's strongest quality is hitting. Lots of guys who can swing the bats.

They also have a player that will be drafted in the top tier of the draft. He is sensational...Alex Castellano.

After witnessing the players they recruited and noticing the players they have back, their lineup is a "Murderer's Row"...at any level.

Hey guys thanks for the nice comments about Nate.

I finally got my computer up and running again - it's been on the fritz lately... so, I'm really late in responding....

Nate really enjoyed those days as the sub off the Dbacks bench. We still laugh with the fond memories of when he was forced into action that day at first base and got the opportunity to show off a little....

And as far as needing 2 jobs to pay for the college costs for both JCuds and Nate dog, that's already been a reality for a year now.... may need to take on 3....

Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys and your families!!

Dbacks - don't eat TOO much.... you need to stay fit for that legion uni.
