I have a friend who played football at Wake Forest and then a few years for the Dolphins. He has a little brother that is a stud in basketball but the SAT is awful. I told him there were probably some CC's around that had basketball and he could get his grades right then transfer.

Anybody know a good community college with basketball? Any other options would be good too. I told him we had some geniuses here and somebody would have an idea.

    Thanks in advance!

May also want to consider Hargrave or Fork Union for a year. There's also a Prep School in Fayetteville and one run by Kenny Drummond, former NCSU guard. Prep school environment. Takes kids with low grades and helps them while marketing them to schools while also playing basketball. I have sponsored some kids in Drummond's program. It's good for kids.

These are great alternatives, but one must be a very good player to go there.

    Juco.......

First let me say that I agree with the prep school idea if he is truly a stud and has the ability but not the grades. Gives him a chance to grow physically and mature mentally.

Good Juco programs locally for basketball........Walters State always has good athletics programs and has a good basketball program. Spartanburg Methodist has very good programs.

If he is looking nationally, Vincennes is always a juco bball power, Indian Hills.

Agree Braves but Old Angel says he's a stud. If he truly is a stud, I feel Prep is the route. You don't lose any eligibility and you get a year to mature and get the grades up and prepare for college. And it's usually on scholly to some degree. Most kids that don't have the grades have the aptitude but have not had the right environment or developed good study skills. Prep helps with that. If you don't have the study habits JUCO may not help much with that.
