If the highly recruited QB's who actually got big time D1 deals like Matt Ryan and Cullen Harper played against Richmond, their team wouldnt feel the need to let the QB run the ball enough times to where the QB would ever NEED to run for 300 yards. For one, they have running backs at Clemson in Davis and Spiller that can take care of the rushing. Everyone on these teams is a big recruit and they are all superior athletes to the App players.

However, if Harper had the ball in his hands every single play like Armanti does, he could account for 500 total yards against Richmond just like Armanti did. It wouldn't be 300 on the ground and only 200 through the air though, because most big time QUARTERBACKS do most of their work through the air.

Tom Brady probably wouldn't rush for 300 yards against Richmond either but he's the best Quarterback ever.

Also if Clemson played Richmond the score would get ugly, the game wouldn't be tied 35-35 so they wouldnt have to keep sending their offense out there needing touchdowns desperately late in the game to get the win.

Actually ASU has a stud in the backfield by the name of Kevin Richardson, but a bad ankle has seriously limited his ability to cut so ASU has relied even more than usual on Edward's ability to blow the front eight many teams throw up there to stop him.

If you think a major D-1 school couldn't utilize a player like Edwards, then you need look no further than West Virginia. Armanti Edwards = Pat White. Similar athletes and similar offenses. Edwards would have excelled playing for Rodriguez.

    So you are saying

that Harper in Clemson's offense is a better option than a kid like Edwards would be in Clemson's offense? You can believe that if you want to.

Your not bursting my bubble. I was just asking a question because I have no idea how smart he is in the classroom. Believe it or not, Clemson has pretty high admission standards for their athletes. They lost out on a couple of big recruits last year because of this and it caused a big stink between the coaches and the administration.

Correct. I don't believe that in an offense designed the way Clemson's is, that Armanti Edwards would do as well as Cullen Harper did. Has anyone checked Harper's stats? He'll be one of the preseason favorites for the heisman trophy next year.

In a spread offense, of course you have to have a guy that can scramble around and run. In a normal offense, you don't.

I don't believe Clemson would have lost to GA Southern and Wofford. Elon beat both of these teams, and App lost to them. Big difference between D1A and D1AA

I'll say it again. WF DID NOT offer him or even heavily recruit him. That's direct from the coaches.
