Ok, you know things and people at ACHS, you say .......the more talented girls (overall sports talent) are not playing bball and concentrating on softball.....I'm not going to say a thing except talk to your ACHS people about Meg Chapman and Kirstin Morris and get back to me on that.

 

get back to you on what? B/c 2 girls are playing Bball that play softball....yet I see girls that played Bball last year that are not playing this year.

 

and what was the girls record last year????

 

ok, you're missing the point you said the "more talented (sports overall)" have quit basketball. Those two girls between them have all conference and mvp in volleyball, all conference in softball, tournament team this year in the CV Classic and numerous other achievements, not to mention both made the state game team last year in softball representing region 7. Now if that's not overall talent in sports, tell me what I'm missing.

 

It doesnt matter if Alexander Central had the entire softball team playing basketball, McDowell would have still blown the doors off of them.

When you're more conditioned to play softball (running 60 feet at a time) instead of 32 minutes of full-court (94 feet), up-tempo basketball - you're gonna get very tired and your abilities to score, rebound, and other intangibles will be greatly diminished.

I don't believe I can agree with you on this one Warden. I watched quite a bit of girls softball last year and those young ladies seemed to be in good shape. You have to remember they are not playing inside a gym. They play ball in extreme weather. I watched games in Marion last summer in 90 degree heat. Those young ladies would play in that heat all day. What I'm trying to say is I don't believe our blowing out ACHS can be blamed on their softball program.

 

All I am saying is they could have more "raw" talent on the team.....maybe not better bball talent..but just more athletes......i know of a couple that played last year that are not playing this year and would have been key players....would they have beaten McDowell? No....but as i said earlier....if the athletes are playing they can make the team more competitive.....other AC (see softball supporters) can say what they want....I am very privy to what has taken place this year...Ill leave it at that.

Ucnttouchthis only posted just to degrade the ACHS Ladies.....and the coaches....that i wont stand for....know Coach Setzer like i do, she deserves nothing but the best.

OK, in my opinion everyone needs to just let it go! Everyone knows that ACHS has an amazing softball program, but basketball just Isn't their thing. Sure they could be better if more "natural talent" played, but I don't see how it would improve the bball program that greatly.
