Looks like LR could be in 1st place & have a commanding lead in Conference Carolinas by Feb 10!

Good luck this year. I root for LR when they aren't playing Belmont Abbey.

Who do you expect to get most of the innings behind the plate this year? Will it be Dice?

What happened to Kurt Benton? I didn't see his name on the roster this year. I thought he gave them some quality innings last year.

The ironic thing to me is the amount of effort taken to buy and install lights, yet not one game is played at night....then again, it can get cold enough during the day.:dizzy2:

Dice will get all of the innings behind the plate, and thats not what I expect....thats what will happen. Benton left LR to become a regular student at UNC Charlotte. He wasn't cut, but decided to leave for personal reasons.

They will certainly come in handy for the conference tournament, and we can have longer rain delays now. By the way, if you haven't seen to new Bear field you will be very surprised when you get to the friendly confines. The left field fence has been moved in 30 feet, and another batting cage has been added. sometime during the season there will be a building over both the cages behind the left field fence which will include indoor mounds. Not to mention there are brick chips instead of that nasty rock dust crap that used to be on the sides of the field. We have new benches in the dugouts (the pro-style ones), a new pro style bench in the home bullpen, which now features three mounds instead of one, and the visitors pen has 2 mounds. Oh, and the rubber is actually 60.6 feet from the the plate now. And the cutouts have been changed.......a lot of changes around the LR baseball program and I like the direction that it's headed.

    Lights????

Word had that they were doing it as a fundraiser - you know how some place have the cow bingo - We'll LR's versions was that everyone could put money on a light bulb and the first one to get broken would signify the winners. And kinda like Vegas the outfield bulbs paid 100:1. When does Catawba and Jeremy Sands show up are Da Bears place?

Nope, the lights are there. Which surprised the heck out of me when I actually saw them.

    LOOKS GREAT!!!!

LRBaseballer the lights look great and the improvements you mentioned they made are outstanding. Look forward to seeing it in person during the season.

Though Braves, I still think the "1st Bulb Broken Raffle" has some real potential.
