    Once upon a STAR

I agree SoutherNo1....I have over 25 notebooks full of memories from all the Stars games we have played....the fun times we had were amazing. That South Carolina kid was throwing gas and the damn field had only 1 light behind the backstop......very scary.

I still remember vividly the first day you stopped by my office unannounced to talk BASEBALL and we have not stopped talking since. Awesome.

We remember the Wilimington and Myrtle Beach trips often. MB was on record one of the coldest games of baseball I think Edmund has ever played. But then I remember playing at South Johnson (Marc was with us) and it started snowing.
Ever wonder where the SC flamethrower is now? And you are right--the field was so dark... mainly lit up by the flames from the pitch.
    Stretchlon baseball was the best!

Cody McElhaney was his name. He signed with Erskine College for the 2008-09 year. Here's his bio:

"Cody McElhaney is a 6’0 180 pound middle infielder/pitcher from Midlands Valley High School.
Coaches on McElhaney: McElhaney should be an impact player as a freshman. Arguably McElhaney is the best hitter in the state. He is a tremendous athlete and he has all the tools the coaching staff looks for along with tremendous baseball instincts. The way he approaches the game is the main reason the coaches foresee a bright future for Cody.
McElhaney is ranked by Diamond Prospects as the #1 second baseman and #22 overall prospect in the State."

Will never forget that night we faced him.
