I had the pleasure and opportunity to be a part of a camp/clinic this past weekend held at the Carolina Baseball Complex this past Sunday. There were a ton of kids mainly from the Charlotte area, and probably 20 college and pros scouts. Most of the names were the top guys 2008-2011 around.

Let me tell you this place is the best facility I have ever seen. I was amazed and impressed at the quality and obvious money put into this place. There are three indoor cages that can be slid out of the way, and several soft toss hitting areas. The most amazing part was a literal indoor field about the size of a little league field.

I heard they have plans for even more. If I was a Charlotte kid or parent I would check this place out immediately.

Yes...it really is an impressive facility. I tried to get over there and see ya, but JR was coming home after practice and he was late. (you know I've got to blame him, not me)

Sounds nice. Did they advertise it here?

Another new complex is opening in Greensboro called Proehlific park, started by Ricky Proehl. Should open in April. Will have several baseball fields and a multi-purpose football/soccer field. Lots of cages and pitching areas indoors. The money being spent to train kids is crazy.

    CBC

My son attended this event yesterday and all I can say is "WOW". He has been working out at CBC nearing a year now and really enjoys the facility, but what an event. Jeff Schaefer, Mike Gardiner, and staff put together a super camp. Many college recruiters and pro scouts watching about 70 guys per group (2 groups), for about 4 hours. Fast moving individual instruction from many top notch baseball guys. My son was in awe getting to talk with these guys one on one, I think he is still on cloud 9 today. I hope CBC will do this again in the future.

There were 21 Colleges that were represented Sunday, some of which were the following:
UNC, Wake Forrest, Clemson, UNCC, Wingate, Lenoir-Rhyne, Va. Tech, USC and many others. Also attending were scouts from the Cardinals, Pirates and Rockies. With all due respect to all the other facilities (I have seen most) CBC has it all. The facility and staff (and what they offer) is without question, the best! Can't speak for all the HS coaching staffs, but SM sent out an e-mail with all the info about this camp to all the returning players. There were players that attended from areas that I didn't know existed. Terrific turnout!:clapclap: The facility has 4 (not three) hitting tunnels with high quality machines and the indoor infield is not Little League size, it has room for 90' foot base paths.
