Dream Team

Exactly !!!

I'm afraid everybody will have their own opinion who is the "GREATEST", you'll have alot of hard feelings down the road from parents that think their kid is the greatest !! I'll have to agree with some of the previous post,it will be a political thing,and it want be a fair selection..The only way to make it fair is have judges that don't know any of the kids ,and have them pick the team by a tryout-JMHO !! No hard feelings,just I'm afraid that it will open up a can of worms. I know this thread isn't meant to do that aforemetioned,but I'm afraid that it will make alot of people jealous !!!

I can remember 4 years ago when a "Dream Team" or an All-Star team made up of players from NC was suppose to be assembled to compete against the Olympic team. As it turned out though, this did not happen. The players on this team ended up being all former and current players of a certain travel ball organization in NC. Something like this would most likely happen again and players that deserved a chance to tryout or that should have definitely been on team wouldn't even be given the opportunity.

I remember that as well but the coach of that particular travel team did a great deal of work to get the USA team here and has been involved in softball in NC for well over 20 years, I believe.
This concept being discussed is not related to an organization or a need for anyone group to shine! It is a discussion on the NC talent and having a dream team or teams of the best talent. Some would argue we already have that!

we all have dreams but its the young ladies that truly pursue them in their own hearts, not us dads and moms hoping for the best for them
keep this board for the promotion of hs and tb softball in general, not only the best 20 in my mind or yours, never be an agreement, this does nothing
play ball, not favorites, and as far as ruffling feathers, bummer
on further review of this thread, dream team? seems like other teams play who they got
what makes nc special?

You are right

TBR is for everyone that loves softball to talk about it and voice their opinion, agree, disagree, etc. This post was made just for that purpose and it has brought out a great many different positions including yours!

Nice...and I agree...

....with you my TBR brother. The "fine line" of what, when AND how we at TBR post things, AND not to go over that "line" is tough for all of us given the FACT that we ALL have the very best interest in our kids! Mine, yours, or maybe a teammate, it doesn't matter. The pure emotion involved in this type of venue will always be whats MOST important to a good forum. Braves, Cheeze, Abbey, Nut, Guru, Sball4, Park, WindM, ...etc...great participants!....but if they don't sling a little snot now and then, WE WOULD ALL BE YES MEN. Class Forum, THANKS for letting me blow my nose!

 

Hey if I can't....

If I can't give me opinion on different subjects on TBR, I wouldn't have much of a reason to visit here! I'm not much of a sparetime reader!!! LOL But I do LOVE giving my opinion on different subjects, especially SOFTBALL! TBR as the name says! GO TBR!!!

College vs. All Star Team

There is a reason why the Olympic team is playing a college team and not an "All Star" team this time. It has nothing to do with competition level either.
