Knowing that colleges and coaches are looking for sometimes more than just a player. What does your do off the field (other than sports). Mine is a member of the Varsity Club, Key Club, German Club and serves as our North Carolina Assistant Director of International Support for the Gloves for Peace Progam of the Good Citizens Foundation (more on this one later).

Forgot mine trys. But have spent it all on travel, showcase and equipment. They all think it is just :REGamblMoney01HL2::REGamblMoney01HL2:here it is. Fun thing happened one time. Daughter at the time 7 asked for something in the store once. I told her that I did not have any money. She said, " Just go to on of those machines and put in the card." I though, wow what have I taught her.

    Talented kids

Come on guys....Don't tell me your kids ONLY are good at baseball. What else is he good at? I know here in town you cannot win the Melvin Newell award for the best little league player unless you also do good stuff in school, community or church. Let's here about some other talents.

My son was also a champion skateboarder and Home Coming King ....unfortunately no skolleys are given for those things. oh well.

Mine is an avid deer and squirrel hunter and has a knack for mechanics
He recently rebuilt the tramsmission on his jeep totally without any assistance in our garage and has redone his brakes as well as other repairs. He is not the grease monkey type but enjoys the challenge of tinkering.

    Just a great kid

Perfect attendance in MS. Took him to "Dicks Sporting Goods" the other day.
Had a $100 gift certificate that he knew I had.

Needed a new glove and cleats. $70 on the glove.

I was prepared to spend that much and more on the glove in addition to the cleats for this spring. (I expected to leave the store spending at least $200+)

He selected the glove and we preceded to the shoe section. Rather than get the "Big Poppie" cleats or the latest from Nike, Addidas, etc, at something like $80 he chose a $25 set of cleats that as he said, "...they have worked for me in the past."

I left the store spending $112.

Im not sure if how I saw this was the way he saw this but he definitely got my attention.

So what does he do off the field? Well he is turning into one heck of a man.

Glove, perfect attendance used to be something that lots of kids aspired to achieve. Congrats on your kid attaining that record. I happen to know that the poster," Strike-em-out" can tell us a thing or two about perfect attendance.

Southerno1, now you know i only have 2 days perfect attendance in PD's "special class". Oh you are talking about someone else, yep he is working on 12 years of perfect attendance, hard to believe with all the baseball he has played. He used to be alittle embarassed about it at awards day, but now i believe he realizes what a great accomplishment it could be. His future college coach said more about the attendance than his 4.2gpa. Dad-gum-it southern, now you have made me join that "fraternity" of dads, please don't seek grayben on me.
