    Metal is what they use

I would like to see the Privates vs. the Publics with the same bats they'll use all season long. More accurate comparison of the teams.

I don't have a problem with Coach27's desire to have it "all wood." It's just not the same game that's all.

Everyone wants to see kids hit with wood so they can "prepare" themselves. Prepare for what? Pro Ball? Get real. 99% will never need a wood bat anyway.

If you want to change the rules I'm fine with it. Otherwise let's prepare to play at a DI or DII college right here in NC (that uses Metal)!

I gotta say............watching HS players swing wood is a little boring.

Being a pitchers dad, i have had the same dream and that is probably all it will ever be, a dream. Bat companies spend too much money to make sure it does not become a reality and i am not sure player's and parent's egos could handle the drop in batting averages and power you would see. Also coaches would have to go back to "SMALL BALL COACHING".:fan_wave2:

I have heard that "reason" being used before and I guess at certain tournaments that could be a reason. But that has never been the case in my mind.

To me, metal bats and steroids/phd have similar qualities. They both produce health hazards; they both are "juicers", and they both cheat baseball tradition.

If one feels the need to see how far a ball will go then I suggest they substitute "rubber balls" for baseballs and watch how far they go. They can all be superman.

But if you want to play baseball the right way...the way it was meant to be played..then go hit with wood bats. To hit a baseball with anything else makes a mockery of the game. It turns everyone from coal to a diamond while skipping steps to get there.

For me, wood is going to be a more accurate portrayal of who the better teams and players are. The wood isn't going to lie. If a player is a good hitter, he will hit with anything. A pitcher is going to be able to take advantages of holes in the swing. It seems it will allow the top players and teams to rise to the top.

I'm not sure swinging wood is necessarily preparing kids for anything, but it does help them. Like someone mentioned earlier in this thread, it makes guys hit balls on the barrel. If they don't, they might find themselves with firewood. I went to this tournament last year and really enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty good baseball.

redirect back to Jack Sink Tournament

WOW!!! The Jack Sink tourney was kinda getting stale over the past couple of years. This is a great shot in the arm and a tremendous lineup!! Kinda the "us" vs "them" scenario!!! Can't wait to see the outcome.

But wait....my team Butler, will be down in Wilmington at the beach playing in the Cape Fear Yacht tourney hosted by Ashley High School. Darn...oh well, guess I'll just have to read about it!

Seriously though, this is a super lineup and I can't wait to see how they match up!!
