    Madden

Last summer, our Legion Team (Wilson Post 13) was up on Durham about 6 to 0 in the 1st inning. They brought Madden in to relieve in the first inning and we did not score another run and lost 8 to 6 or something like that. I think he went 7 innings or so. I just remember him shutting us completely down. I also remember him when he pitched for the Diamonds that Coach 27 was referring to. I agree, he's as fluid a right hander as you will ever see.

Braves, you and the other Bear Fans are going to love the Maddens. Sherman (father) is the a-typical pitcher's parent. When son Sean pitches Sherman cannot be found as he is paceing behind the outfield fence, way up the RF line, chasing foul balls etc. He is an absolute delight to be around. Always happy and positive about what lies ahead.
You Bear Fans have not only gotten a good pitcher, outstanding student, and great young man; but also another great family.

Sean was the first player my son met after returning from a broken shoulder while playing with the Copperheads. My son was very impressed with Sean not only as a player, but as a mature young man & friend.

    Good Luck Sean
    LR got a great one!

Typical pitchers dad is an understatement. In games when Sean was not pitching Sherman was right there ready to help do anything. Coach May do you want me to keep the score book today? Coach is there anything I can do today to help you guys out? And of course you could always hear him in the stands with all the other parents cheering for the team. But on days when Sean was pitching you could never hear him. Thats because he was down the right field line on the other side of fence and would never come close to the dug out or other parents.

I have to totally agree about Sherman and Vickey Madden. You will not find a more supportive pair. When Sean was 10 years old I would sit in the dugout and talk baseball with him and it was like talking to an 18 year old high school player. The kid is so mature and well grounded. Of course their is the younger son Zack. Now that kid is a hoot. I had alot of fun with that boy as well over the years.

The thing I remember most about Sean is riding in the car with him to showcase tournaments with the Copperheads and feeling like I had another coach in the car. He drips with baseball knowledge...mechanical and technical knowledge, historical knowledge, the whole gamut. I'm glad he's doing well at LR!

I'm going to have to get out to LR and see this kid pitch. When do they play at home again?
