TBR guys make it to Heaven (despite the odds)

God asks SoutherNo1 first: "What do you believe?"

Southern thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and
says, "I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family
and friends. I believe in giving. I was lucky, and I
always tried to do right by my friends."

God can't help but see the essential goodness of Southern, and offers
him a seat to his left.

Then God turns to Plate Dad and says, "What do you believe?" Plate
says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the
fundamentals of life. I,too, have been lucky, but win or lose; I've always tried to be a true friend."

God is greatly moved by Plate's sincere eloquence, and he offers him
    a seat to his right.

Finally, God turns to Braves: "And you, Tom, what do you believe?"

Tom replies, "I believe you're in my seat."

A couple of things parents and players need to be aware of that little is spoken about. Athletics of any kind are important to a college recruiting process. This is probably much more true in the div 2 level than 1 but it still applies. In a division 2 small school almost every kid is playing a sport of some kind. Almost every kid is on some kind of a scholorship. Schools recruit thru athletics often times to get students more than athletes. The truth is most kids in div 2 schools could get the same scholorship packages whether they played sports or not at any school. This is why parents and players need to be looking at the best education first when choosing any school. as everybody mentions often, going to another level beyond college is slim and even more slim for a div 2 athlete. If you really want to know your value in sports look at the scholorship dollars offered for the sport not the total package. If it does not make up a large percentage of that then give it a very hard second look.
Take a look at the value of the school in general as well.
