I wished everyone of you guys would just knock this off. You guys are acting like a bunch of childish 2 yr olds.

Whatever happened to pulling for your team and leaving it all on the floor? You Watauga people remind me alot of spoiled brats in that you dont get your way.

The reason why the McDowell, Freedoms, & Reynolds are so good year after year is because it started out as people pulling for their team, and it got better through hard work, determination, and the futhering of their programs through AAU, Middle Schools, camps, etc...And its furthered itself into a tradition.

Support the team and the coaches, regardless of the outcomes of each game. You'd be surprised on how much confidence your girls would get if they got some actual support behind them. Then it could turn into winning seasons and then who knows what the future holds?

For anybody who was wanting to know, McDowell blew out Watuaga Saturday afternoon by a large margin. All but one McDowell player scored in the contest. Kurie Washington led McDowell with 24 points.

Watauga hung tough in the first quarter much like the first game in Boone but the Lady Titans extended their lead to 16 at the half and broke it wide open in the third quarter.

Hey Clark quit bringing my name up on the board! I no longer have anything to do with the HS program. You and hoopsfan and argue all you want but leave me out of it.

I was just claiming that no one wanted this job anymore. The interest has hit rock bottom. Like you said, you have nothing to do with the HS program and thats my point. We have run off alot of good coaches like yourself.

    WARDEN
The parent of one of our players does not have a clue and we are pointing that out. We are calling them out for sitting on a messageboard and posting behind an anonymous screen name. While my screen name is anonymous, I dare say most people on this board from WHS and alot in this conference know who I am, unlike this guy who bashes without us knowing who he is.

ncbaseball485 and rams12bb- AMEN. This is why people pull their name out of the hat when they find out all the crap that has gone on with this job. We have run off 3 legitimate good head coaches and numerous assistants.

Coach Whitson has coached with Anderson for years. Whit knows his basketball and knows what he is doing. He has committed to the system. Coach Whiteside is new to Watauga but maybe you missed the fact that her and Molly Brooks were teammates on the great MHS team of 1997. Many MHS people wanted Brooks to be their girls head coach. Im sure Coach Whiteside has learned just as much as she has about basketball.

Comparing JV wins to Varsity is apples and oranges. McDowell has 6 sophomores on Varsity.

That's Jennifer Brooks that's an assistant coach for McDowell. Molly Brooks is a player on this year's squad. And for those McDowell people that didnt realize, Coach Lara Whiteside is the former Lara Seagle a post player that played on the 1997-1998 State 4A Finalist team, a lady I went to school with.

WHSPIONEERS, I couldn't agree with you more. I hope it's all beginning to become apparent to WHSHOOPSFAN that he/she is wrong, and who knows, maybe he/she will admit it sometime soon on the board for everyone to see. :N1ImwaitingHL:

Hey WHOOPSFAN... maybe YOU should apply for the head coaching job at Watauga the next time there is an opening!!! I'm sure you would be the PERFECT one for the job! No one else pleases you so maybe you could give it a shot sometime!!! I bet the good Lord himself couldn't please you!! It's ashame some of the things you post on here... do you not stop and think how bad it hurts these girls when they read this junk!:sad3:
Keep up the good work Coach!

My question is...and no disrespect to Watauga, Anderson or anyone else...but why are we spending so much time talking about and giving attention to a program and set of fans who haven't earned either? Why not dissect great teams like Mcdowell or Freedom and their coaching strategies/players rather than give attention to and bicker over a team who, hate to say it, is inconsequential at this point in the season? As soon as Watauga starts to rally behind their players and coaches, and possibly start winning in conference, maybe then they deserve to be discussed. But let's face it, a bunch of parents and fans discussing why the worst team in the conference is the worst team in the conference just seems unproductive, pointless & unfair to players like Ali Ford or Kurie Washington who have earned the right to have threads about them.

    Watauga, hang in there.:talker:

    LWRHS,
Sorry, but I think you mean the second worst team in the conference. We have been competitive in many conference games first time through. Second time through has been tougher for our girls.

I wonder if other schools have the same discussion about their women's soccer or volleyball teams, sports in which WHS excels. I guess some think we should win at every sport. Truth be that few schools win in every sport- exception maybe being Hickory.
