I have heard both positive and negative things about the weighted ball. I personally don't think that they do a whole lot to help your arm. The best way to make your arm stronger is long toss, bands, and small weights.

I own these programs and the hitting program is very good. It is basically muscle cofusion. I do use the light amd heavy balls but I have only used the light balls and the 7oz ball. It goes all the way to 12oz.I am afraid to use a ball that heavy. The program also comes with the different colored bands. As I have stated before this program uses balls thrown from about 20 feet away. The pitcher throws on flat ground with a baseball and someone stands about 20 feet from the catcher on the side. When the player throws a strike the person on the side sees how high the ball is when it comes by.Say it is chin high he then sets a target up chin high and the picher throws to the target. They have done a study on gravity and say 20 feet will not change the release point.I know what L.R is saying and alot of other good coaches say the same thing. But this is what the program is about. And yes my son has used the program and he has been succesful. But that is one person and I would not train someone elses kid. If you would like I can be more detailed.

    weighted ball training

    Coach,

Seems like it may be good, but i have always used long toss.Start out close and then back up every so minutes once they start to get warm.Once they are far apart, We let them throw about 15-20 minutes on long throw.

The push ups and the bands

I like the elevated push-ups. I think it really helps for pitchers and well any baseball player. Also the band exercises I highly recommend. Any good Physical Therapist would lilkely say the same regarding these two.

As for the weighted balls and the system that is introduced. While it looks like there was alot of thought put into it and it is a very professional approach it would take IMO very close supervision of the athlete. That is until the athlete is able to follow the program precisely.

    My ten cents.
