McDowell has beaten ACR, TCR, and Asheville. Not freqently, but it has been done.

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
I am assuming when graduated from ACR was the '66 football team, '67 school year? That is ACR's only team that went winless (0-10). See link below (scroll down on main page)....

This is true, although McDowell is just 10-3 against us lifetime, they did beat us 3 straight years, 1993 (20-7), 1994 (21-0), and 1995 (14-7). ACR history against McDowell linked below....

The 1989 state playoff game (Reynolds 65-35) was one of the craziest games that I have ever seen. I personally think that game was one of the biggest reasons that ACR didn't win the state championship that year, because McDowell really exposed the ACR D as being weak against the pass. McDowell went run and shoot all night, and it really worked well. Problem was, Reynolds O scored every time they had the ball, except the last time when they downed the ball to run out the clock. I was in the press box that night and more than one ACR person was thankful to see McDowell get back on the bus and head down the mountain.

I don't disagree that the all of the series with ACR, TCR, and Asheville are lopsided in favor of the Buncombe area folks. But the facts remain that McDowell has beaten all three of those teams, so they aren't invincible. I would also argue that the amount of $$$ put into each of the 3 programs doubles, or maybe triples the cash that goes into the McDowell program, which makes a big difference. Of course, if you've got it to spend, then spend it....
