    Mooresville Middle School will have 75-100 7th and 8th graders try out for baseball. Normally, the coach will keep 16-18 players.

    Middle school baseball tournament

    I had a thought today while I was in hickory for a middle school district band competition, which I might add there were over 20 schools represented. If we can have district competitions for band why not for baseball. We could pick a central location like Morganton, Hickory, or even Winston. Pick a compex that has at least 4 300+ fields. You could use consessions to pay umps and field rentals, then divide the gate up between all schools to be used for gas money, that way unlike usssa tournanments this would be basicly non profit. Its just a tought but what does everybody esle think. Maybe a double elimanation,or pool play depending on how many teams.
