Did anybody else see that the Cub's owner, Sam Zell is selling the Cubs and Wrigley field. Which means it might no longer be Wrigley Field. It'll be some crap like Altell Park at Wrigley Field. This is beyond discouraging. Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, and Wrigley Field are landmarks. We'll all live through renovations, but changing the name. I may actually have to move to Pakistan

    Oh How things can change

It is totally a shame how baseball has changed from the good old days when as kids we really loved one team and knew that our favorite players would stay with our team and autographs were easy to get. All of that this new generation will never experience. What a real shame!! Nothing is sacred in baseball anymore.

Yes, it is a shame that the young guys will never experience the things that we did. Where a player lived in the same block as you and had a winter job at the Hardware store. But I don't blame the players. The owners were arrogant leeches and miserly.

Just heard that conversation the other day. But, they were refering to the renaming of the race track in Fontana. They were comparing how the drivers represented a sponsor and that in the future you may start seeing teams in baketball, basball, footbal start to have sponsor names on their uniforms. It is not uncommon overseas. As salaries and stadiums become more expensive city and states with limted funds. Companies have started picking up the tab and with that names have changed. Look at the following link.
    http://www.answers.com/topic/list-of-major-league-baseball-stadiums

Note click on the field name you will be surpriced as to how and where they got thier name.

I agree with Braves - baseball has continued to evolve into the "business" mind frame largely due to the trickle down theory from the owners, and the players have joined in. Still, Wrigley Field should be considered an art landmark so to speak that shouldn't be messed with....
