Parkland goes 1-3 for the day.
    Defeated East Davidson 2-0
Ashley Myers leads off the year with a homerun.
Morgan Myers strikes out 9 of 11 and drives in other run

    Lost to East Surry 0-3
Victoria Cook only hit for us
First 2 batters for east surry go yard. Believe they hit quite a few throughout the day.

    Lost to North Moore 0-7
Pitched #4(go Ms. Pitts) and tried some things on defense but very young and talented Moore team looked good.
Katie Beck and Victoria Cook both go 1-2

    Lost to East Forsyth 1-3
Morgan Myers pitches a good game couple of errors hurt and also goes
    2-2
Katie Beck drives in only run.

Good barometer for us (not a traditional power by any definition)
Took several younger girls with little experience to see if someone can catch fly balls. Some could, some couldn't.:frusty: Pretty day but windy

Talked to Guru, ldfdguy, ndsb10, and softballjunkie i guess most all the freaks were out. :ymca:

    Nice Bolo, and Megan....

.....for hitting a bomb off a star pitcher. Its a compliment to pitchers such as Morgan Peeler, when someone reports about a player who steps up to the plate and succeeds, and then gets her well deserved, AND I MEAN WELL DESERVED props for doing so.Props to Megan for her play and props to Mo for hers. ...I love this game!

    Somebody tell me....

How a HS team plays 5 games in one day when the state says you can only play 4 per week? Especially after the official opening of the season.

I am not picking on CC for sure...they just happen to have their scores listed here and I noticed 5 finals.

Don't scrimmages count toward that total? If not, what would prevent some HS coach from playing 5 on Saturday and then 3 or 4 more during the week?

Sounds like some great ball games though...

If I remember correctly, a high school team can have 2 scrimmage "days", so I believe you can play several games on those "days" and they do not count towards your total.

Sounds like a great day!! Hard to believe the season has already started. Conference games are just around the corner.

    Good luck to all.

The people on this board are so funny! Folks, these are scrimmages with a one hour drop dead time limit. THEY ARE NOT GAMES!!! THERE IS NOT A W OR L ATTACHED TO THE TEAMS RECORD! Everyone wants to treat a scrimmage where multiple players are rotating in and out like it is a regulation 7 inning game and more than that some treat it like the 7th game of the World Series! Lets see what happens once the regular season starts and it really counts. Then we can award the W or L and see 7 innings with everyone playing for keeps.

    SO TRUE!

A scrimmage is a form of PRACTICE. Teams may freely substitute, change the batting order, set up situations, etc. Scrimmages do not fall under game rules because they are NOT GAMES, so put away your scorebooks!

These scrimmages are also a means for umpires to practice their skills.

Umm...it was just a legit question. I honestly didn't know, thats why I asked.

I thought the real games had started, again, that is why I asked....

    Got the answer though....:chair:

    Great Job!!!!

CCHS played great ball. Great pitching, great D. and the hitting got better as the day went on. Were there any other teams that went undefeated for the day? Yea it was scrimmage as ND Tiger put it but I didn't see alot of subs running in and off the field during the game. CCHS has taken a fair share of shots, happy to see the girls starting off well.

Yes, these are scrimmages and there are no wins or losses recorded, but it gains valuable experience for those players trying to earn a spot in the lineup, and does give you a great early season gauge of where your team is. You can't tell me any time great teams like ND, CC, AC play each other they dont go out there trying to beat each other. CC faced some of the top pitchers in the state and for the most part i thought fared very well.
