    Parkland High School

Parkland beat Randleman today 5-4 in what started off being a great game and ended up pretty sloppy with several walks, errors and hit batters. I believe it was 1-0 after 5. Parkland scored 4 runs and then Randleman scored 4 in the bottom of the 7th to make it 5-4, Tyler McSwain started for Randleman and threw well. Seth Mahaffey threw for Parkland and also threw very well. Nobody really killed the ball so no huge news there. There were several hit batters and some disagreements over that stuff and Randleman had a player ejected. Parkland is a scrappy bunch with a hungry young coaching staff. They all get along and things look promising if they can get just a couple small things straightened out. For a change, there were actually other high schools there keeping a book on the Parkland boys! Looks to be an exciting and fun year!

    Go Parkland!
