What is the average salary for high school head coaches?

    No, no one did answer the original. I did tell you in my first post on this thread how it could be figured out, though. Coaches are hired as teachers (well, most are...), so they are paid on the standard state teaching scale based on experience. I would be willing to bet that you will never get an accurate amount, though, simply because of the differing amounts of local suppliments and who knows what under the table booster contributions.

    Here is a pretty cool PDF of the average suppliments by county. This averages for teachers, superintendents, and coaches, among others are listed. Might want to look at the suppliment for Mecklenburg superintendent. That is a pretty good chunk of change for a suppliment....

    Hope this helps, but you will still need the years of experience of a coach to get close.....
