    South Caldwell

I do not know if they are a Dynasty. But they have made the playoffs Twenty-Two straight years. I think that is a hell of a program. When you are on top people will take shots at you.
I do not know all the fine young men on this team, but my son has had the pleasure to play with a couple of them through showcase ball. I can tell you right now they are of the highest quality of character.
They are Cody Prestwood, Brock Woody and Aaron Bentley. So as far as smack talking I do not buy it. Do I think these young men including the ones I do not know would be that arrogant, absolutely not. I have been to South Caldwell many times and have always been treated with the utmost respect. Are they proud of their team, yes and they should be.
To let the members know a little about me, I have a son that plays at West Stanly, so guys I am not a homer for South Caldwell. I just love this great game and respect it. So go Spartans, play good and win with respect for the game.

    TBR winners = Friendly posters

OK....here is the deal. Why don't we leave it that South Cadwell is one of many GREAT programs in our state. If anyone wants to name some more programs please do.

The issue here is that when someone uses the word DYNASTY (reigning for years) about something it will surely get others stirred up. The reason for this is that we all wish we could be part of a dynasty and very very few ever accomplish that.

Braves has worked hard to make this the best board for all of us to enjoy at the highest level of regard for each other. So let's post about regular teams/kids/coaches, good teams/kids/coaches, great teams/kids/coaches and even super duper teams/kids/coaches.......

But most of all please keep the comments positive and let the other boards deal with the negative war of words.

Now, anotherspartan, you know that is not acceptable. That is the purpose of the board. If we were concerned about bragging, we would never have started that thread about "How did your son do?".

First, if anyone attacks a player, they will be banned...immediately!

Second, I know 007 and he is a HS baseball supporter. Like me, he is interested in all the teams. I don't believe he meant to draw a target. He was pointing out the fact that South Caldwell has built a winning program that has been successful for many years. I wouldn't suggest using the term "dynasty" because that infers "conquering your opponents over a lengthy period". Perhaps Rose, at one time, could have worn that title, but even they have gone through some cycles.

I believe his intent was to "shine the light" on a program that deserves the attention...nothing more.

But if his intent (which I don't believe) was to set a bullseye.............stone him :joker:

No argument from me. I love reading about all the players from this team. Great bunch of kids!!!! But I must say, as much as I love and will miss Madison, I'm really going to miss my buddy, Shane Clawson. His attitude and enthusiasm will be difficult to replace.

Braves, I apologize but that is exactly how I felt this morning as I read all the posts from this thread. That the players were being attacked and all because of a title that didn't come from a SC fan. I knew I should have kept my big mouth shut. LOL But boy the old blood pressure was boiling. I do know that that is what this board is about, that was my "being sarcastic" point. Sarcasm doesn't come across too easy in print.

I'm sure if I say too much about South Caldwell, I will be called a 'homer' by someone...again. Let's see that makes me a "homer" for SC, Watauga, AK, Providence, Hopewell, NM, West Forsyth, ND, East Meck, Myers Park, Weddington, Mount Pleasant, etc....all teams that I will be following; as well as new teams I will be lucky to see.

Some people will never understand that there are many people that enjoy HS baseball, not just a team or their son....and 007 is another one that fits that group

I am a Watauga fan, but I started this thread because I'm proud to have SC in our conference. If anything, they do not get enough credit for what they have achieved. I don't recall anyone talking about their top 50 ranking in Baseball America's 08 preseason national high school poll before this thread, so I don't think SC fans can be accused of excessively tooting their own horn. I also did not start this thread to put a target on them.
As defending state champs, it's already there.

Last year all you heard about was SC's pitching while their position players were barely mentioned. A good example is Charles LePrevost. Three other catchers in the conference get all-conference and not Chuck ? C'mon.
Lepravo and the rest of the 07's have been high-quality, well-coached, gritty ballplayers all the way back to the Cobra days.

To be honest, I was expecting a big dropoff in SC's offense this year because 1) the 07's graduated and 2) the returning guys didn't get that many Legion AB's. It looks like I was mistaken. I'm astounded by their offense so far, which prompted me to ask "How do they do it ?". I've never seen a junior legion game, but apparently that is serving as a great stepping stone to varsity baseball for South Caldwell.
