Well...I totally agree with you....The rebounding issue was a problem, but what crippled us was the turnovers. When you commit the 25+ turnovers, its very hard to get into an offensive rhythm. Also, IM guessing that West Charlotte shot at least 60% from the field, which is awesome. Compile the Lions' high shooting percentage and our turnovers and rebounding inefficiencies, we didnt stand a chance of making a comeback.

But for the record we had under a brand new coach, it was a hell of a season. Just hope we can overcome the losses of three great players and be contenders again next season.

Seems the ranks of the undefeated this year cant ever catch a decent break....First the New England Patriots, then Memphis, and now to locally, Grimsley and Wakefield.

    Great year

Well guys, its been a good season as always, and I would agree with everything that was said except bigdan, you said Kelsea was a 4 year starter but that is incorrect. Kelsea's freshman year was the Sr year for Anna, Emily, Kendra and that group of great ballplayers. She played a lot but did not start. But, I would wholeheartedly agree with you about her inner strength and the type of person she has become. One of the biggest hustlers on the floor McDowell has ever had. Brian has also had a good year with a great group of experienced players. He will also get better with experience. He will learn a lot next year without the big 3. I think this years team was much more talented than last years with the returning 3 and the experience the younger kids got last year and all of this year. BUT both teams finished 26-4. I cannot help but think that Coach Silver would have made a big difference in the game today. Good year` again girls and we are proud of you. Thanks for all.

I thought Kelsea started some games her freshmen year...if not then my bad.

To say that Mike Silver could had made a big difference in today's game is a matter of opinion and is a lot easier to say after the season has just ended. Me personally, I don't agree.

I got to see West Charlotte play twice this week and I got to see Wakefield play us during the holidays. I think most anybody like me who got to see both those teams this year would say that they are the two best teams in the state and that they pretty much were the better team against the Lady Titans in both instances.

Bigdan, you are probably correct in that Kelsea may have started some games after Emily Lovik tore her ankle up the last part of the season. And, no doubt Wakefield, West Charlotte and also Grimsley are better than our girls this year. But who would have realistically thought that Wakefield and Forestview (3A)would have gotten beaten. Or Hickory gotten beaten out so early. That's why the games are played. I think you would have to agree that our girls are overall better, more experienced, and deeper than last year. No doubt West Char is also better. But we lost by 10 last year with Jessica hurt and Kelsea and Kurie very sick. This year the loss was by 21. Did West Charlotte improve that much more than us since last season? I was not saying we would have won with Coach Silver, and by no means anything vs. Brian, but I do feel we would have had a better chance. I just know that years of successful coaching experience cannot be replaced. :xyxthumbs:

I think last year's team was better with Jessica Smith and Bethany Dages. Granted, West Charlotte wouldn't have any trouble with either one, but if you could bring the Anna team back, then maybe you would be onto something. I still think Anna could play in the ACC!
