    So far this season.......

Well our season to this point consists of 1 game, but.........

    1. If you play solid defense and don't give up unearned runs, you always have a chance to win.

    2. If you are weak at a position on the field, the ball somehow manages to find that position more than any other.

    3. Catcher is the most important position on the field.

    4. If you come up to bat with the bases loaded and the pitcher is struggling with control, unless that first pitch is belt high over the plate, TAKE IT.

    5. If you throw 4 pitches in an inning and get 3 weak ground ball outs, that is a productive inning, strike outs mean you have to throw more pitches.

    6. Building a new hitting cage, with 4 cages instead of 1, means you get 3-4 times the number of swings you usually get in practice and your hitting actually improves. (hopefully it lasts)

    7. Watching high school baseball is as good as it gets.

I've been trying to tell people that for years. Watching college is fun; watching HS baseball is the best

    2 Strike Hitting

#11 No answers for this one.

This gives me so much trouble. 2 Strikes. What are you thinking? Close enough to call=close enough to hit. Think about the count! Don't ever get called out on 3rd strike looking. Ever! Hitter counts and pitchers counts. Ok to think about however 2 Strike hitting is the max! Don't give up the plate!
Counts go out the window when you are in a 2 strike count. Battle!!!!

Let me say Coach that i guess i owe you a dinner for the comments about us you made (it did some good to offer you a heater when you were in Roxboro).

Now for #11... i am so tired of watching players who refuse to take the bat off their shoulder, and take a backwards K. WHat makes me madder is when they then come back to the dugout complaining when it looked like a K from the coaches box. id much rather see a swing at a bad pitch then a 3rd strike taken, at least the batter wanted to swing.

I would also like to add that Kenny May and Kevin Ferrell at South Granville have had the honor to have some great players come through their program. From Matt Harrison, to Chris Luck to Pratt Maynard, to Jeff May. These guys had a significant impact on these kids and you will continue to hear alot about them. These guys know how to coach and i learn from them every time we talk.
