    PAC 8 - TRI 8 matchup (4A)

    Green Hope
    0 4 1
    Jordan
    1 4 0
    (8 innings)

The starting pitchers played to a draw, neither figured in the decision-
    GnHope Chris Perry - 7 innings, 5 SO, 3 1B, 1 2B, 0 W, 0 HBP
    Jordn Zach Bernard - 7 innings, 5 SO, 3 1B, 1 2B, 1 W, 3 HBP

Good defense by both teams for 7 innings.

Jordan scored an unearned run in the bottom of the 8th, throwing error from 3rd put the leadoff runner at 2B, a sac bunt to 3rd, and scored on a wild pitch.

Got to see this game.....I forgot how cold a night game could be in March. I think this game will tell you how tough the SW4A will be again this year. You won't be able to count any team out until the last out.

Butler stayed tough the entire game.....there is no "giving up" in this team.

North Davidson defeats Southern Alamance 10-0

North Davidson defeated Southern Alamance 10-0 in 4 1/2 innings Tuesday afternoon in Welcome.

The Black Knights scored six runs in the first after Southern's pitchers hit four batters, walked one and allowed 3 hits...North stranded one base runner in the first. Southern only gave up one hit over the next two innings, but the Knights exploded for four runs in the fourth beginning with a two run homer by Levi Michael. Zach White, DH'ing in today's game, drove in the third run in the inning and Jordan Slate drove in the game's final run with a sac fly.

Clay Watson struck out 3 and walked none while pitching a four hitter for the Knights. He improves to 3 and 0.

Jordan Slate led the way for the Knights going 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI's. Levi Michael was 1 for 1 with his 2 run homer...he was hit by a pitch and walked his other two trips to the plate. Tyler Hanover was 1 for 2 with a line drive off of the center field fence...he was also hit by a pitch. Zach White and Aaron Carter also went 1 for 2 for the Knights.

The Black Knights are now 4 and 0 and welcome the Mustangs of East Rowan High School to North Davidson tomorrow afternoon at 5:00

    SW4A - Butler 1, Providence 0

Great game between Butler and Providence.

Tyler Tewell shut down the Panther bats limiting them to three hits and making the big pitches when it counted.

Providence loaded the bases with no outs in the second and Tewell gets a K, a come backer for a force at the plate and a fly out from tough hitting Will Helms.

Panthers attempt to rally in the seventh. Put runners on the corners with one out. And like the night before, the Bulldogs once again turn a DP, this time 6-4-3, to end it and take a one run victory.

Helms nearly matched Tewell pitch for pitch, allowing a run on six hits and Patrick Deckbars’s sac fly that drove in the game’s only run.

Butler is off to a great start with two road victories to open conference play.

There will be very few nights off in this league this year.

    I don't have a re-cap, just a score.

    Ragsdale 13
    E Randolph 7

I know that David Coffey started and assume he got the win. Other than that I have no details.

Ragsdale now 5-1, 2-0 on the season. Next up is S Alamance @ home Thursday night.
