Brittany McKinney at UNC

    Last night at the Hawaii Spring Fling Tournament in Honolulu, UNC freshman Brittany McKinney hit her 1st and 2nd career home runs in the Tar heels 7-1 victory.

    Last time I looked at the UNC stats, Ms. McKinney was hitting over .350 and had on base percentage over .500 and was close to leading the team in walks. But most importantly I know Brittany would most proud of the fact she is helping the team win.

    I've known Brittany since she was 11 and it's great to see all these NC girls doing so well in college.

    Tar heels beat #15 ranked Hawaii last night 5-1 to finish pool play undefeated. Baracket play begins today.

    Ms. McKinney went 1-3 with a double and 2 RBI.

    Proud papa!

    I've only seen her play (don't know her personally), but have always heard that shes an even better person off the field vs on the field. Probably the best compliment that can be given to any athlete. Congrats to Ben and Brittany on her success thus far, not that anyone is surprised! GO HEELS!

    Saw on UNC's website where Brittney went 2-2 in the second game yesterday against anglea tinser and va tech helping the Tar heels win the ACC regular season championship. Nice job!

    Hey she is the real deal and will set some records before she leaves. With the 2008 and 2009 recruiting class for UNC, I see a bright future.
