    Prince of Wilson

Wilson Fike 6 Nash Central 1

Soph William Prince gives up a swinging bunt and a one out 7th inning solo shot in the complete game win with 12 strikeouts. A D1 coach at the game told me this kid is for real.

Xavier Macklin hit the home run. Xman has the scouts calling his number.

    Results from last nights game

Everyone knows there is no love loss between Parkland and Glenn. Last night no differant. Plate calls were pretty fair on both sides. Not perfect but somewhat fair. The field ump needs a lot of work. But it still comes down to hitting and running and no errors.

    Glenn 210 010 0 - 4 7 1
    Parkland 000 000 0 - 0 7 2

Parrish pitched a good game and Mahaffey took the loss.

2B- (G) Corey Parker, Parks Jordan
    3B- (P) Trey McCraw

    Leading hitters
    (G) Jordan 2-3, 3 runs, RBI; Brandon Harrison 2-4, 2 RBI
    (P) Trey McCraw 2-3

Again it comes down to scoring runs and commenting no errors.

    Yes I did

But I was having to keep two books that game in the semi-dark and my reading glasses were fogged. Add to that, the fact I had people talking in both ears and I think I can be forgiven. I get my stats from the book I take home, the good one goes to Coach for cross-checking purposes.

    SE Guilford 8 Ragsdale 2

    SE Guilford- 103 000 4 - 8 6 1
    Ragsdale ---- 100 001 0 -- 2 3 5
    WP – Cam Cockman
    LP – Nick McBride (4-3)

Boxscore says a lot about this game – those five errors really hurt Ragsdale, as did eight walks. McBride didn’t pitch that bad tonight – only gave up four hits in 6 innings (faced three in the 7th) but he gave up eight walks to negate his ten strikeouts. Cockman pitched very well for SEG. He struck out eleven, walked none (hit three batters) giving up only three hits.

SE struck first as a one out walk to FR Josh Tobias was followed by a ground rule double by Austin Moyer scoring Tobias (advanced on a WP). Ragsdale stuck back as Ben Fultz smacked a two out solo HR to straight away center to tie the score at one. Errors killed Ragsdale in the 3rd. Tobias led off with a single, Moyer walked ( looked like a SO to me), then a one out comebacker to McBride was lobbed over first for a run scoring error. Wild pitches and another walk scored to more and Ragsdale was down 4-1.

Ragsdale scratched out a run in the sixth as Fultz singled, stole second, advanced to third on a WP then scored on a FC by Cody Myers. But that was it for the Tigers. In the seventh walks and an RBI double by Cockman ( had struck out three times before that) ended McBride’s night. A couple of errors and a couple of singles plated three more runs to make it 8-2 SEG. Cockman finished up the seventh for the complete game.

Ragsdale was led by Ben Fultz who was 2-3, HR, RBI, 2 runs scored. McBride has the other hit (1-2). SEG was led by Josh Tobias ( 1-2, 2 walks, 3 runs scored), Moyer was 1-1, DB, RBI, 3 walks, 2 runs, Eric Seders was 2-2, 2 walks, RBI. Cockman was 1-3, DB, RBI.

SE Guilford runs the table in the MPC, 12-0, 19-2. Ragsdale now 8-4, 16-6. Second place in the conference with a game with Ledford Saturday at Finch Field in Thomasville.
