    Do it right??

Just shows that if you think you have done everything correcttly you could be wrong.
It will take a few years to get rules in place (IMO).

    Reason simple:
A student may be eligible to attend a school but not be eligible for interscholastic competition there. A student can meet the state requirements but still not meet the local code, which varies for each system

And until they can come up with something that will be the same rule for all. It will never be right. And the same can of worms as always.

    Transfers increasing

Proof that more and more kids/parents are trying to switch schools each year as sports dominate over education.

It will be nice to see rules applied the same and made clear. So, everyone will be clear. It will be fun to see how long they will take to get it done. It may become the new state education lottery. Guess the date and win. :N1Lol16:

Like it or not, stretchlon hit the nail on the head.

I, too, would like to hear your response, Braves. This is a HUGE hot button issue that has reared its head quite a few times recently. I will say this, because I can from both a coach and school administrator point of view; the checking process is a BIG headache that first needs to be done by the coach then followed up by the administration.

I don't disagree, but I believe each area presents its own challenges. The issues of this subject are different in Charlotte than they are in Kannapolis.

I wrote a long reply and I didn't save it, so I'm not going to attempt it again. But I mentioned many areas including redistricting, exorbitant college tuitions and some parents becoming mini-Mike Wallace's for a less than honorable reason.

    The bottom line is:

    - There is no teeth in the proposals
    - There is no money to administer the followups
    - And I think it is a hot topic that will go away; and it will return to status quo.

If parents are cheating and there is no deterrent, those same parents will continue.

In Charlotte, it is even easier. If you run out of public schools, we have a myriad of private one's.

But let's don't forget. It was just a few years ago a player could transfer in- season to another school and continue to play. I remember a kid from Vance played 3-4 games, then transferred to Indy and picked up where he left off.

I know your feelings on this subject. Very stand up. I will agree what ever they do it will need teeth. Not only for the school but the player and parents. What that could be would be hard to say. But, what ever they do it needs to be across the board and not admendments. Same ,same for everyone.
