2006 AL State Tourney

in the 06 state tournament in thomasville, our team lost in 12 innings to pineville in the first round. we rallied and became the first team in state history to win the state championship coming after losing the first day

 

Lumberton hosted the 15 year old Babe Ruth Southeastern Regionals this past summer and the team from Tallahassee, FL got beat on opening night by our little ole bunch of mites who were only playing because of being the host. Lumberton lost their next two badly, and Tallahassee played unbelievable ball the rest of the tourney and won it with ease.

I was fortunate to be at that game as a Pineville fan. Great game! And congrats on your comeback to win the State.

 

We did something similar this last weekend

We had a kid this weekend pitched a a 2 hitter through the 6th(56 pitches!!). Our kids had the other team down 4-2. Only three outs left. So what do we do? Yep. Lets pull the kid and have someone close for him. We did and gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th. This was a championship game in a local travel tournament. The kids have been playing up and on the verge of moving up to the next level. They had this same team down 4-0 earlier in a tournament.

 

earlier this year my high school team was trailing 13-4 in the bottom of the 5th, came back and won 14-13 on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs.

Also we were down 7-0 in the 6th inning against Gospel light earlier in the year, scored 3 in the 6th and scored 3 in the 7th with 2 outs, tying run was left on 3rd. We lost 7-6. But it was a valiant effort.
