    It is amazing the stories you see and the joy baseball brings. Baseball is full of hopes, dreams and inspiration. There is no greater game in the world.

    "there is no crying in baseball". wrong.

    Another great story about an awesome young man. I think we can all learn some important lessons from him.

    Thanks for that post. Wow, if only folks would remember how blessed we are that we get to watch our young sons and daughters participate in this great game. 20 years ago today I married my wife and although she was aware of my passion for the game she had no idea how it would control our lives. I'm blessed with a special wife (Happy Anniversary) and 2 wonderful healthy children that I've got to watch grow up on the field. Godspeed young man! You are an inspiration.

    so true

    the day my son graduated from high school, it just so happened that they had a legion game that night. he played for Whitey Meadows, Post 66 in Mooresville. half the guys on that team went to Mooresville HS and they kinda had their sights set on....well......extra curicular activities that night.

    anyways, i heavily persuaded him to play the game. he was a starter and it was against K-town, and they were good that year. "i'll make it up to you later", i told him.

    long story short, he had the winning rbi, in their last at bat that game and it is something i'll never forget. i'm sure he wont either.

    best single ever? who knows, but memorable nonetheless.
