I know there are several guys on the board playing at some local DII schools. Tusculum, Carson-Newman, and Catawba are all heading down to Tampa in what should be an extremely tough Regional with defending National Champ. Tampa hosting. In the national polls, this Regional includes the #3, #14, #19T, #40T, and #41T teams.

Mt. Olive is hosting the South Atlantic Regional which includes Belmont-Abbey, USC-Aiken, and Erskine among others. Mt. Olive is VERY good this year and probably the team to beat in this year's tourney. This Regional will be one heck of a test for them though as it includes (according to the National Poll): #1, #8 (last year's runner-up to Tampa - Columbus State), #10, #25, #36T, and #19T. Every team in this Regional is either ranked or getting votes in the National Poll. Whoever emerges out of this will have definitely earned it.

    Good luck to everyone!

    Wolfpac man - Belmont Abbey

Mount Olive is extremely strong and well deserves all the credit they have received. They survived losing a game to Belmont Abbey in Conference Championships. This regional is loaded with talent and whovever emerges will know they were in some tough games.

Barton did not get a bid - record 27-28

5 of the 6 teams that made the NCAA DII South Atlantic regionals had 40 or more wins this season. This is the first time I believe Conference Carolinas has received 3 bids. Belmont Abbey, Mount Olive and Erskine from Conference Carolinas, while Tusculum (sp?) and Carson Newman from the SAC. All these teams won 40 or more games this past season as they head on to the NCAA Regionals.

Congrats to Coach Smith & Coach Anderson. This has been a work in progress for some years and its nice to see all the hard work pay off in the end. Wishing you and The Crusaders the best of luck this week.

Tusculum beat Carson-Newman 8-7 in one heck of a game. Game was 7-7 going into the 9th and Tusculum got the bases loaded and were able to drive in a run. Tusculum faces the winner of Catawba/Florida Tech tonight. The loser of that game will face Tampa who beat Stillman 21-1 today. Stillman faces Carson-Newman tomorrow in an elimination game.

In the Mt. Olive regional, USC-Aiken beat North Georgia 1-0 and Columbus State beat Belmont-Abbey 5-1. Mt. Olive and Erskine are paying right now. The winner of that game plays North Georgia. The loser plays Belmont-Abbey in an elimination game. Columbus State plays USC-Aiken tomorrow.

Catawba beats Florida Tech 5-4 by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th. Tusculum will face Catawba tomorrow and Tampa gets Florida Tech. Tampa went 2-2 against Florida Tech during the season and Tusculum went 4-2 versus Catawba during the season.

    So, for the schedule tomorrow:

    11 AM: Stillman vs Carson-Newman
3 PM: Tampa vs Florida Tech
    7 PM: Tusculum vs Catawba

Carson-Newman beat Stillman 7-5 today escaping out of a 9th inning bases loaded situation by getting a double play. Carson-Newman will face the loser of Tusculum and Catawba tomorrow. Stillman is eliminated.
