I beg to differ. Ineligible is ineligible, period.... as far as the state is concerned. Ignorance is not a valid argument. I wonder if this girl played in their 1st round game? Could Butler be out of the playoffs? They would have to forfeit that last game too.

not being defensive of butlers staff, but its almost impossible to keep tabs on that many girls, especially those from split families. parents move during the year, dont report it to anyone, coaches dont have a clue, someones calls in and reports it, now they know....lets hold off on judgement until the whole story comes to light

    easy...

The facts are on the CMS website and it appears a full investigation was done. Please read that before assuming, guessing or asserting what you may think is fair. There are rules and consequences in place and those rules and consequences will be followed through with as appropriate. We all have seen CMS do this all year when needed. We do not know whom the player is, but appears it was not an everyday starter.

As a high school coach we do everything we can, as does our AD, to ensure our kids are living where they should be, have the grades, etc. Parents and players can misrepresent and have, this is not news. I seriously doubt that the coaching staff or athletic department at Butler would allow one kid to blow it for the entire program with the talent they have, especially when this kid does not appear to be a starter.

Before everyone starts throwing stones, take a second and remember that it is the JOB of the parents and their child to tell the truth. The school(s) does its due diligence to make sure they are within the rules. Our AD is very good at what she does all the way around and she takes no chances, but even so things can fall through the cracks sometimes not to the fault of her or coaches who try their best. I challenge all parents to do the right thing to begin with, and then we will never have stories surfacing like this ever again.

Simple Solution to rid inelligble players

    HOLD PARENTS RESPONSIBLE !!!!

Should not be a coach's responsibility to determine if someone lives where they say they do.

Have parents sign affidavit with penalty of perjury if they lie. Throw the book at the ones that cheat the system and it will all go away.

    JUSTICE

Well, I feel that ignorance is NO Excuse!! It is the coaches and the admin. job to know if a child should or should not be playing the game . Take the XXXXXXXX, they had an illegal player, the coaches knew it, but who gets punished, the child ,can't play for 30 days in nsa, where's the justice and the responsibility for the adults in this case.:31:
