D1 Softball Players have no life except . . .

    books and ball. The NCAA reports that D1 softball players report spending an average of 37.1 hours per week on athletic activities during the season. These data are self-reported and include all sport-related activites including time in the training room. This is the highest number reported for any NCAA women's sport. These same athletes report spending 38.5 hours on academic activities.

    You had better love softball and everything that goes with it if you are going D1!

    Thanks Dukedog4, I'm going to make a copy of this to show my DD, she doesn't really believe me when I tell her play time is over if you play collegiate softball !!!

    D2 is the same as well

    The same goes for Division 2 softball too!! This is coming from a player herself!! You better love the game because it will be your life!!!

    College isn't all about books.....

    .....which are obviously why a kid is there, but time management is learned big time when at school. As for the pace or regimen of an athlete, yes, its a big committment. There are positives galore with being part of an athletic program as well. Travel, tutors, the very best in sports med., awesome facilities to be proud of, PERKS! AND for those who really are committed to school and sports, its a chance of a lifetime that SO many other kids would die for. Fishman.
