    Plays tonight at home in a non-conference game against Rowan. Thank goodness East Rowan is still in the playoffs

    Both teams threw a lot of pitches, and in the end Wayne County scores 3 runs on a bases clearing double with 2 outs, and a 2 run homerun. Those two timely hits were the difference in the game.
    All in all, it was typical back and forth Legion game until the 2 run homerun sealed it for Wayne County.

    Durham is at Apex tonight (5/23) @ 7pm.

    Rowan County defeated Kernersville 12-8 tonight. Kind of a suprising victory considering half of the line-up was made up of the Rowan Junior Team. Rowan was missing 9 players from East Rowan who are still involved in the state baseball playoffs. Matt Hall started on the mound and gave up 8 hits and 5 runs in 3 innings. Parker Gobble making his Legion debut came in and earned the win going 3 innings while giving up 5 hits and 2 runs. Russell Michelac earned the save by pitching a perfect 7th. Gobble was 2-4 at the plate including a 2 run triple. Michelac was 4-5.

    South Rowan 5 (7 Innings)

    Non League Game. Both teams brought the sticks tonight. Mooresville had 17 hits with 3 HRs. South Rowan had 10 hits with 1 HR.

    Mooresville's next game at South Rowan on Sunday night

    South Rowan is at Kannapolis tomorrow night (Saturday). League Game. Should be a good one. I think Snow is pitching for South and Wright is pitching for Ktown, but could be wrong.

    Union County vs. Denver

    Union County goes to Denver and pulls out a victory in a 11 inning thriller!

    Denver led the whole way behind excellent pitching 2-0. Then in the top of the ninth inning with Dylan Stewart on base, Derek Hardison hits a 2 run blast to tie the game! Bottom of the ninth for Denver finishes in a controversial play at the plate...extra innings.

    Top of the 11th, Kyle Gordon leads off with a single, followed by a double by Dylan Stewart. Brandon Santiago hits a deep fly ball that the centerfielder makes an awesome play on... dove to make the play and was up against the wall. Gordon tags up to score, and Stewart scored from second.

    Adam Sedberry comes in and finishes the game off for Union County. Matt High pitched 9 complete innings for UC giving up 2 hits, and got no decision. I do not remember the starter's name for Denver, but he pitched very well, Jesse Guice also shut UC down for 3-4 innings. What a great game! Union County is now 1-0

    Apex Post 124: 2

    Alex Pecevich threw a no hitter into the 8th inning, and Durham holds on to win 6-2. Post 7 is now 1-1 on the season.

    Durham is at Garner tonight (5/24) @ 7 pm.
