Pretty impressive. NCAA Baseball showing a lot of love to the triangle area.

Regionals at Cary (UNC hosting) and Raleigh (NCSU hosting).

Will be interesting on Mon. to see the matchups announced at 12:30 pm on ESPN.

UNC Chapel Hill hit the jackpot with it's seeding. I don't think the higher ups could have given the Heels an easier bracket.

    yes

yes, unfortunately I agree that their road to the CWS looks easier than most.

they won't be playing Oreg St this year for the title, cause the beavers were left out.

I wouldn't consider UNC-W or Elon a cake-walk for the Heels. These are two in-state teams that would love nothing more than to upset the Heels.

I, for one, would be extremely pleased to see the Seahawks or Phoenix take care of the light blue.

Me also, but it is a cake walk, or should be. The Raleigh region is much tougher.

    RT

Ray Tanner spent 20 years at NCSU as a student ( 2 degrees), player, asst coach, and head coach. The Doak was his home so to speak. He's coming back for the first time (at least I think it's the first time?) since going to USC 12 yr's ago. Bet the return stirs up some emotions for RT!

Anyway, surprised we haven't seen any "storyline" on this in the media. May have missed it.

I think that former Coach Sam Esposito is considered a mentor for both Coach Tanner and Coach Avent, so he has emotional ties to both coaches. Another good storyline.

    Should be fun.
Are games being televised in the Triangle area??

Don't think any of the Raleigh games will be televised.

Can you imagine the crowd for a NCSU/USC match-up at Doak? :cheers2:

    And thats what you got!

NC State will face the SC Gamecocks Saturday night at 7 (if no rain)....already sold out except for grass tickets!
And this Wolfpack fan would take Coach Tanner over Avent anytime.....sorry but that just my opinion. If NC State had upgraded and done for Tanner like they did in the past few years Tanner would still be there and NC State baseball would be a powerhouse...just my opinion....not worth much....
