Pitt wins first game today, 5-4, to force winner-take-all championship. Hagerstown wins district championship and goes to Grand Junction (Co.) with 7-3 win over Pitt.

In D-II, Lenior lost to Frederick, 23-5 this afternoon to force a winner-take-all championship starting tomorrow at 10 am.

If LCC gets rained out this morning, they advance to the World Series because of their #1 seed in the District Tournament. Rain might be the only way to stop that Frederick CC offense... they beat Catonsville 16-0 and LCC 23-5 yesterday afternoon. It would be a cheap way to advance so hopefully the game is played... but that is why you play hard all year and win every game you can, because of situations like this.

    Pitt and Lenoir

I hate to see that Pitt lost out. When we played at their place this year I got a chance to see some of the best fans with alot of class. BRCC didn't have alot of fans for that weekend and the games were pretty tight until the last game. I felt that our fans and players were treated very well. It may have made it easier for them that they swept us but they never rubbed it in or tried to show us up.

As for the way they treated us fans you could not have asked them to be nicer. They have some spots reserved for season ticket holders and when we arrived at the 1st game we were told by a couple of gentlemen that one of those spots were for a family that would not be making it to the games and that we should just make ourselves at home. We did and sat right with those guys and never heard them put down our players or theirs. We all talked baseball the whole weekend and even though our boys didn't play well it was easier to stomach because of their great hospitality.

That Pitt team was also the best team we played all year. They weren't flashy and made their plays and fought hard at the plate. I'm sure it was a pleasure for the fans to watch them play all year.

    Congratulations on a great year.

Lancers won it fair and square and will advance to the World Series in Millington Tenn.

Just as information, the only reason it took this long to play the tournament was because of some "home cooking" by Frederick. Their pitchers only had 2 days rest from their tournament, and the games were "rained out" on Friday eventhough it stopped raining before lunch. The next day only 2 games were played and no other fields were even considered. Every one knew they were trying to stretch out the tournament to get their pitchers ready but... IT DIDN'T work. IF the last game had been rained out it would have served them right for the two days they held the tournament up. However....LCC got it done fair and square! Way to go Lancers!!!

Congrats to the Lancers. I was on board for the 2004 trip to Millington. We finished 1-2 and 5th in the Nation. I firmly believe that future Lancers (hopefully this years squad) will do better. We got there and were completely shocked at the level of competition.

If any of you LCC guys are reading this..... Good luck to you. it ain't gonna be easy. You are gonna face some big-time competition. LSU-Eunice looks like LSU (if they are there). There is talent out there, but you guys should not back down from any of them.

    Bring home the title.

We closed every practice/game with "1,2,3... MILLINGTON" back in '04. Hope you guys do the same.

Lenoir wins first two games. One more win, and they are in the championship.

im new to region x baseball, but I was looking at the playoff bracket and saw that Brunswick cc was not on there. Do they only take the top 10 teams or something?

I believe Brunswick is playing in D2 which is different from the DI conference with Surry, SMC, Louisburg, Pitt, etc.

They would be in Lenoir's conference.
