No bitterness in my comments perhaps in the others. My UNCG comment is relative to AK and Charlotte folks making the trip not the Rose fans. You brought up the support and again its easy to not have to take a 1/2 day off work, drive 3 hours, and get a hotel to watch kids from your community play. Thats the true test and I'm proud we had our supporters there.

As regards the schools it was my understanding Conley cut into your area when it opened and that has been the only change to Roses area in many years. Thats a good thing for you and be glad you're not in Charlotte.

    Clarification

As I stated, Greenville Rose is a great program and played very well. Congrats to them.

I must have missed the "cleating" incident. All I saw was the second baseman jump over the sliding runner while concentrating on the first basemans glove to throw it to. As sometimes happens with double plays, the fielder and the sliding runner got tangled up after the throw. What happened after that is apparently up for interpretation...maybe the field ump should have exerted a little more control at that point during a hard fought game.

Congrats again to Rose. Hopefully, we will all do this again next year.

LL, MS and BR Feed to DHC, SC, JHR and North Pitt.

In some instances, Fall League Feeds as far out as Ayden and Williamston.

Its all good. Thats just baseball...even when your pitcher and catcher took off after our player, didn't bother me. I would agree with you, the umpires should have exerted a lil more reign over that...but no bigee and certainly had no impact in the final score... :smug2:

By the way are your bats okay where the coach throw all of them out of the dugout before the top of the 7th? This staff seems to use alot of interesting motivational stuff.

G'ville Rose had some excellent pitching. Coach was trying to wake the bats up !!

Like I said, lets do this again next year! SO hard to do with single elimination games the first four rounds....

    Congrats to Rose

We (Raleigh Sanderson) played Rose 4A East Regionals and they were by far the best team I had seen all year, bar none. They played hard and as everbody has said, they hit 1-9. Pretty damn good pitching, especially Wilder, to go with their hitters. There was no weak link that I could see. You never want to lose that late in the playoffs but Rose was on a mission -- to win the 4A state championship.

I did not see AK play but to make it to the 4A state championship in only two years is simply amazing.

    Congratulations to both teams.

Diesel, give it a break. We can go back and forth all day on the 2nd base play. They took off after your player as he walked backwards to the dugout talking smack. You maybe think getting cleated happens sometimes? Its a game of emotion and emotions were high. Its all part of the game. I have no problem with it from either side so can we move on now?????

    Don't Forget the Pitching

Lets not overlook the fact that in the two games and fifteen innings of play there was simply OUTSTANDING pitching.

2 pitchers for rose throw fifteen innings.
2 pitchers for ardrey kell throw fourteen innings. Another comes in for one inning with a man on third and no outs and the guy is still stranded on third at the end of the inning.

    Pretty special stuff.
