    Which part...

I was just trying to satisfy everyone. Of course some of the rules may seem somewhat unbalanced. aND WITH ALL RULES YOU CAN NOT GET EVERYONE TO LIKE THEM. But I see no need in calling me insane. I do not have a dog in the hunt as one would say. Mine will be attending a four year D-1 this fall. He got in on his grades. He is still working on playing at that level. As he said playing is secondary at this point. He has played with some of the best kids in the state. Many who play on some of the elite showcase teams. Can he still compete with them? Yes!!!! Point is.. seems that a few think that bragging rights are important. As for me, I could careless. On the other hand is that not what state championships, world series and other such events do? Have a winner so they have the right to say we are the best in the country, state, nation, ect... So with that. If someone was to put it together I guess you would not show up to see the games. Kind of sad. I would thought that putting the best unsigned players in the state of NC would have been pretty cool. Guess we can leave it to someone else. Or has that already happened??????

    Right on

PlateDad is "right-on" with his insight on the potential games between the elite teams in the state that have never really been afforded to us fans. Furthermore, I think what precipitated this proposal is the mere fact that, in the last five years, the Dirtbags have only played the Cubs three times. Some of the tournaments Andy didn't allow the Cubs to play in and some of the tournaments Andy didn't schedule the two teams to play. Essentially, I guess it is a "conspiracy theory" to always provide the "what-if" phenomenon. So, to answer your queston Red Sox fan, no, Andy has not already provided this for us as far as the intended purpose of the question.

I am always learning things on this forum!!

Thank you so much for this answer. It really got me thinking about mine. I have always told people (only half jokingly) that he walks a fine line between arrogance and vanity. And was told once by a coach that to be a pitcher and a QB you have to be arrogant. The older he gets, I see this as being one difference between him and other pitchers. He never seems nervous, no matter what the circumstance.
Although at home he sometimes drives me CRAZY with his attitude, I felt so much better this weekend when someone I had never met found out he was my son and told me how he had enjoyed talking with him and what a polite young man he was. You're never sure, as a parent, how others see your son. Boy did I need to hear that.
I guess Andy's answer just confirmed what the other coach told me. Thank you for that.

    Young Coach!

So what does a young up and coming coach need to do to get involved with the dirtbags or any other showcase team?

I would recommend that you send a PM to Coach27. There isn't anybody he doesn't know in your area....plus he will give you good counsel.

PD- Andy has a showcase featuring unsigned seniors every year. Also, he does a list for unsigned seniors on his website for coaches to check out. Who else does this? and how effective has the others been? I ask this because I really don't know.

..and Dawgswood called you "insane' affectionately. He luvs ya...just as we all do

Wow...great 1st post. Too bad people won't read Coach May's post 'Random Post".

Andy took the time to answer questions from our members as a favor to us. Whether one likes him or not, he deserves respect as any guest of this board.

Some people live to destroy others. They are not happy unless they are complaining and making others miserable. DO NOT sign up on this board if that's your wishes.

Geez....some people take themselves waaaaay too seriously.
