Popping in here with a couple of "had to share" baseball stories

Ok I'll throw one in the hat...
When my boy was 7, I woke up one Friday and said to myself it's time for him to see a big league game. So I got online, found some seats in Camden Yards and we drove up the next morning. 4:00 Saturday game...in July, and I mean it was brutally hot. Anyway, as we walk thru the turnstiles they are giving away tee shirts with Jr's pic on it...as dumb luck would have it, it's Cal Ripken Day ! Ends up we are able to sit six rows behind the home dugout ( got there when gates opened...of course ), and had a great view of Cal and the guys loosening up prior to gametime. My boy was speechless...just staring (me too) . As the game went on, it was so hot my kid had to take his shirt off...as I was pouring bottled water over his head to cool him off . In about the 4th, Jr comes up and takes one out...very cool, my kid was pretty excited. Later in the game...Jr goes out again...and all the sudden, I see my son standing on his seat bare chested waving his give away tee shirt over his head as Cal circles the bases. The entire section we're in begins doing the same, ending with a curtain call by Jr. I was one big goosebump just watching my son enjoy this great game...brings tears now just recalling it.

 

Now that my friends, is what baseballs all about. It's more then a game, it's a way of life. That had to be pretty awesome!
