    Kent Basinger provides the eventual winning run with a solo homer over the left field wall in the bottom of the 8th. Basinger also earned the win for RC. The game was delayed when D.J. Dean for E. Randolph was struck in the back of the head with a catcher's attempted throw to second base. Dean was taken off the field on a stretcher. I hope all is well. Rowan is off until Friday when they host Mocksville back in league action.

    Wilson drops its first of the year to slip to 7-1; resumes conference play Tuesday, June 10, at Edgecombe Co.
    Kinston climbs to 9-0.

    Area IV

    Since I can't seem to get Caldwell Baseaball.com back from Yahoo, I dont get the Richard Walker emails (if he is still doing them). If I cannot get CaldwellBaseball back soon as in this week, I am just going to find a new domain and host.

    Things I know from reading online for Area IV West are (losses in () )

    Caldwell 5-1 (vs Rutherford)
    Shelby 4-2 (vs Taylorsville and @ Caldwell)
    Henderson 0-2 (Taylorsville,Shelby)
    Hickory 0-3 (Caldwell, Taylorsville, Shelby)
    Lake Norman 1-1 (Caldwell)
    Rutherford 1-1 (Caldwell)
    Asheville 0-0
    Burke 0-1 (vs Shelby)
    Cherryville 0-0 (I know they had to move some games, but I am not sure if they have played a division game yet)

    Pineville vs Cherryville 6/10

    Lightning out...

    Pineville was leading 2 - 1 top of 4.

    Pineville takes on Cherryville again tonight (6/11 at Cherryville).

    Western Forsyth vs. Roxboro

    7 innings

    WP-Andy Howland

    Roxboro scores 3 in the bottom of 1st.(all unearned) to go up 3-0. Western's bats came alive and scored 17 runs. Everybody on the team had aleast 1 hit.

    Next game Friday night at Troy.
