All of those days of backyard throwing, in the cage hitting, sitting in the Drs. office consoling him through broken arms and legs. Driving 14 hours to carry him to a tournament and find out he left his glove. Loaning your shoulder for him to cry on and your wallet to pick his spirits back up.

And the one day each year your son demonstrates his thanks to you by giving his yearly presents:

    - a tie on sale from Walmart
    - a card he made quickly while going to the bathroom
    - Some cologne given to him from his grandmother for Christmas with the price tag still on it----$4.99

Now all of those things are appreciated. I put them with all of the others year's ties and cologne. But the one thing he gives me that makes it all worthwhile is when he says, " Happy Father's Day, Pops. Thank you for everything you've done. I love you!".

Wow...it makes that cheap cologne smell pretty good.

I hope that everyone has a Happy Father's Day and for the son's out there? Make your Dad feel special...he deserves it.

    A Cookie Cake

A Cookie Cake from Harris Teeter that says "Happy Father's Day ! "

...... and then he proceeds to eat the whole thing in one sitting as a "snack" ... Priceless... At least he didn't eat the plastic plate the cookie came on...

    Happy Father's Day !!!

    Father's Day

I got the box of entemann's chocolate covered donuts from my son, when I got ready to open them, he looked at me and said, after this you start a diet! My daughter gave me a wonderful card that she actually took time to write something very sweet and nice in. No wonder she is my favorite! (Just kidding, I think)

Later today I was moving sound equipment and light equipment out of our xbox playhouse into my equipment trailer, my son sees me carrying about a 200lb set of speakers and mixer board and says, Dad that looks heavy, do you need help? He then walks off and plays with the dog! Did I mention that my 12 year old daughter is my favorite?

It was a wonderful day! My wife even made me lasagna. :REDanceBanana008:

    Father's Week

For me it was a great father's week! I got to spend 5 nights with 5 boys from region 3 along with my daughter and wife in Greensboro. Hearing and seeing those kids laughing and joking with each other for 24 hours a day was the best.

It was as if they were all 10 years old again!
