Checking out another baseball sight and came across an article about Western Oklahoma State JC and they had a freshman player on their team named Juan Carlos Perez listed from Raleigh NC. set JC DII records for HR and RBI in a season. Did he play hs baseball in Raleigh? My curiousity was aroused when I saw this. What is JC DII? JUCO has different divisions?

Don't know who the kid is but congrats to him.

JUCO has different division's just like NCAA.

I played baseball at Lenoir Community College that is in Kinston, NC. We were NJCAA II. Money was the reason we dropped from NJCAA to NJCAA II.

Pitt CC and Louisburg were rivals of ours but they were JUCO D1.

It appears he must have lived on Raleigh St in the Bronx. That would be the only Raleigh connection

    oldness?

oh yes, the other kid in the article..............Danny Almonte, he's the kid that tried to fool LL baseball several yr's back. was pitching in the LL WS and it was determined his age was actually 14 not 12. remember?

what is independent league? is it professional? The article said he signed in an independent league but now enrolled to play ball at a juco. what is that status all about?

    JC Perez and Danny Almonte

I'm pretty sure JC never played in NC. Someone at the JUCO DII World Series said his parents may now live in Raleigh NC.

JC and Danny both are excellent hitters, but the numbers are decieving! Their home field is the size of a little league field! I'm not joking! They were the first team eliminated from the World Series.

Danny refused to answer any questions about the LL situation, rightfully so, and according to my son, they were a great group of kids who were as nice as they could be.
