Region 2 was leading Region 3 by 3 or 4 runs in the top of the 7th when the rains finally ended the tournament. That, I assume, would give Region 2 the Bronze medal.

Not sure how Region 4 and Region 5 ended. If they had played it would have been tough to predict a winner. They're both really good. But Region 4 had a 20-0 game that probably helped determine the winner by rain-out rules.

A couple defensive names you can write down for future reference:

Jordan Scarborough, Region 3, played second base as best I've ever seen anyone play it. She is awesome. You'll hear more about her for sure.

Caitlin Sandy, Region 4, played third base. Absolutely awesome. And she knows it!

Scarborough plays at Wake Forest-Rolesville. Sandy plays at Jack Britt.

Indeed, the Region 4 third baseman (Sandy) was awesome!

Also, write down the shortstop for Region 6, Lauren Lewis, from North Meck.

I hate to hear that. There should only be one Gold. I'd be willing to bet that both teams would have been willing to meet at a field convenient to both teams to determine the real Gold Medal team. Maybe someone could be talked into that.

That would be a great game!

    Jordan can hit.....

...and pitch with the best. I'll definitely keep up with Jordan, and Caitlins play over the next few years.
