    Put It Together

Put this game together and I'll be there to photograph it. Mother Nature just wouldn't let it happen sunday.

More photos and comments about a GREAT weekend of softball in the next few days. Go to http://www.ncfastpitch.org/index.cfm?id=71511&fuseaction=browse&pageid=1 for photos and info.

    Thank you from NCSCA

What a great weekend of Softball! The talent displayed by these athletes is truly amazing. Some outstanding defensive plays, strong pitching, and timely hitting were on display. Also, some pretty good coaching moves that had a bearing on the outcome of a couple of games. Our Association would like to thank the State Games of North Carolina, Competition Manager Mike Lambros, and all the wonderful volunteers from Region 5 and North Davidson High School for their tireless efforts this past weekend. I know personally I was able to meet some very fine people over this past weekend. All of them dedicated themselves to running a smooth tournament and to put on the best games possible for the girls that played. I believe that was accomplished. Also, a really big thank you to photographer Alex Rosato for his wonderful work with the camera. I am sure there are more things that need to be worked on and I have already gotten some very good ideas from people who were at the games and a couple from TBR members who were there as well. The North Carolina Softball Coaches Association will continue our efforts to promote the sport of softball and as always the young dedicated lady athletes that play the game. Thanks to all and we, and the State Games are already making plans for next year's tournament to be the best that it can possibly be.

A big thank you to all,

    Eddie "Pop" Rivers
    President/NCSCA

    Is that a positive comment?

I don't know her but I told her she was awesome and I told her she was a little cocky, too. But as well as she played, she deserves to parade a bit!!

Casual Team Photos of the GOLD and Bronze Medal Winners

I understand the official team photos from The State Games of North Carolina Medal winners should be up today or tomorrow on the NCSCA web site.

So here are my unofficial photos at the Medal Awards in the gym at UNC Greensboro due to the rain and lightning. Region 4 (Purple) and Region 5 (Blue) are the GOLD winners. Region 2 (Green) won the bronze. For rosters again go to the NCSCA web site.

yes it would have been a great game. but both teams deserved gold. each won their respective brackets. mother nature won out sunday and that the way it goes. hats off to the uncg field staff that keep the field in great shape all weekend and even tried twice to finish the bronze medal game and get the gold going. with lighting in the area its just not worth the risk. softballphreak if you were there like i was the right call was made. also hats off to mike lambross and his staff from north davidson. mike had to make a tough call about the games on early sunday morning as well as the medal games and he did a great job. also hats off to pop who is seeing the dream of the REAL showcase for underclass talent in the state get started on the right foot. at least 25 colleges coaches signed in and that doesn't count ones that came by for a while. thanks to all who involved in the state games. it doesn't get any better.
