What you meant to say vs What someone thought you said.

Probably every reader has read a post where they became aware that someone completely missed the point of what another poster was saying.

When we are talking to each other in person we have things like body language, facial expressions, tone of voice that makes our message clear for the most part.

There is an article containing some do's and don'ts when you are posting or reading that makes it a lot clearer what to watch out for. That's why I started this thread. To see if someone can find that article and maybe we can make it a stickie for future reference.

I've seen quite a few posts that have been misinterpreted and people getting a little hot when, in actuality, I believe they were saying the same thing.

If you know of something that would help make communication a little clearer please link it or post it.

Sometimes critizing is a good thing though. Just have to do it the right way with class

 

You may be right scfan, but not in a public forum. That's what PM's are for.

 

1. don't post like you're anonymous, err don't say something you would not in person
