    TO ALL AREA IV LEGION BASEBALL FANS I HOPE YOU ALL MAKE THE TRIP TONIGHT TO SOUTHERN GASTON CO AS CHERRYVILLE POST 100 FIGHT IT OUT WITH CALDWELL CO POST 29 FOR 1ST PLACE IN AREA IV .
    I WILL BE THERE , THE CENTER OF IT ALL SO BE NICE AND STAY SOBER !!!
    REMEMBER ALL U CRAZY FANS . NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS AND WHO WINS OR LOSSES . THE UMPIRES ASSIGNED TO THIS GAME ARE OLD GUYS CAN'T SEE PAST 2ND BASE HAHA
    TWO FORMER REGIONAL UMPIRES . BOTH WITH 100 'S OF GAMES EXP.

    jdmump,,,,,,,, I don't know which is funnier, you asking the Calwell/Churvell folk to be nice TO EACH OTHER,,,, or you asking them to be nice to the UMPs...


    If your one of the umps in this game, you will no doubt see good baseball, but 2 words of advice,,,,,, GOOD LUCK !!!

    If they umps call it like WE see it, they shouldn't have any problems.

    On a side note, all Caldwell County fans should follow Jdump's directions and go to SOUTHERN Gaston County tonight.

    Wow, did you have the game tonight Dave?

    2 of the best umpire's in the SE Region - C-ville/Caldwell deserve no less.

    They have another game tomorrow night, hope they have good umpires at Caldwell on Thur.

    SOME TEAMS WILL BE USING 3 UMPIRES ( MAYBE???)

    OTHERS 2 BECAUSE OF LACK OF FUNDS !!!

    GREAT GAME.......Cherryville won 5-4.....Cherryville Coach BDR had to question both guys tonight, the plays in the field looked to be more apparent then the calls from behind the plate. It was hard to throw a strike consistenly....Course both pitchers were hitting the outside corner almost ever pitch (or at least attempting to)......

    But the guys from Hickory done another good job. I'm getting use to this team of UMP's and they are quickly becoming a favorite. Both seem spunky, and willing to go toe to toe, but seem to realize the game, atmosphere, players and coaches are there, just wanting any BREAK they can get.

    It has to be fun to call such a rival game, considering some of the games I've been to this year. I believe some ump's want to become part of the game, but this year in Area 4 the ump's have tried to keep control, but allow the guys to play.

    It has to be because they're fans of the game too, because I know a couple of these guys, and they travel great distances some nights to call. And with gas $4.00 a gallon, they're not getting RICH.......
