I know this should probably be in the next level section, but i felt it would be more beneficial here.

I went to the local rec games last night and sat down next to Morgan Childers, pitcher, USC Upstate. Now, i've known morgan since she was 8 yrs old, have coached her, my daughter has played on teams with her, I know her family intimately and these are a truely great softball family. Heck, she was with her parents watching her youngest sister Reagan pitching in a 12u game (this kid is gonna rock also)

Most of you know her as "Mo the Merciless", as when she's in the circle, she will put you to shame. But I know another side to Morgan, this is one great kid. You wont find a more polite or genuinely concerned young lady

She just had her nose reconstructed from the softball she took in the face during college last year, looked awesome, great job.

Anyone who knows this girl, knows just how hard she works at pitching, I dont think I know of anyone else personally who throws the ball more or works more for perfection than Morgan.

We talked for about an hour, remembering our first tb game which we played in Locus, NC as a 12u team. We talked about Kings Mountain and her state championships and her first year at college. What strikes you most about Morgan is that she doesnt take the credit herself, its all about her teammates. To me, thats awesome. She talked about Kayla Short, Ms Felton and a lot of girls I dont know but by name. Now here's a dominate pitcher who's excited about a freshman pitcher coming from Georgia to their school next year. She talked about hoping to play Kent State one more time to try and even the series that they lost on an error. She talked about playing Ole Miss this coming year and how fired up everyone was going to be. It was obvious that to Morgan, its all about the team, her teammates and their future. You dont see much of this anymore, as it seems to be progressing to the ME thing more and more each year.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the college experience is what you make of it. Hard Work??? Oh yeah, its hard work, but this girl is no stranger to that.

I want to thank Mo for bringing back some great memories of our past and warming my heart to know that the efforts put out by many parents in Kings Mountain led to so many of these girls playing softball in college.

possible interview in the future Mo?????? I know you've got a following of parents and young players alike. Bet some would like to know a little more about how hard you've worked and how it's benefited you?????

Anyone else want to her from Morgan????

This young lady is an example of the good in softball. She has always been about team and helped the Blues reach the highest point in Colorado and Florida. She was probably the most popular player becuase of her hard work and dedication to her team.
Take a look at her success last season at USC-Upstate, says it all. Best to Morgan for the future! A quality person, team mate, and student.

Morgan is a great person. Morgan's parents are some of the nicest people I've met in the softball world. I drove to KMT many times to watch Morgan play, and talk to her parents. I always love to hear about Morgan and how she is doing. Very proud to know Morgan and her parents.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. There aren't enough superlatives! She's going to make a great coach too!

    An interview with Morgan....

....would be awesome. For that matter, might it be possible to hear from her and others already in college on a continual basis? We all would benefit hearing of their experiences in college. Nice Cheese!

My DD had the pleasure of catching Reagan all last year. It is not a far stretch to say that she could be just as good as Morgan.

agree scamp, awesome power for a 12u girl, great control and gonna have the same build as morgan. plus you add the factor that her older sister helps her out considerably and you have one heck of a potential all star pitcher.

Could never hear too much from this kid. One of the best not only on the field but off. Great things happen to those who work hard and stay true to themselves. Hats off to Morgan!! Love you kiddo.
