Multi-Purpose - Constance Orr (Butler, Matthews, N.C.) Sr.
After losing All-American pitcher Ashton Ward to the University of Tennessee, many thought this would be a down year for Butler. Those thoughts were put to rest as Orr stepped up and led the team to its third state championship in a row. She was a force to be reckoned with in the circle, never losing a game the whole year. Her ERA was a staggering 0.02. It stood at 0.00 until the playoffs. Orr also was among the unbeaten team's leaders in just about all offensive categories. She will play next at the University of North Carolina.

Congrats "C" you have always been an athlete... Love ya, Guru

    Always Knew !!!

My kid/family have been playing against Ms.Orr for seems like eternity from her early years with the Mint Hill Heat through her Carolina Curve years, and now with the Blues, she has always been competitive and outstanding in her play. I remember that strong Curve team during her formative years that if that team was still together today it would probably be one of the best teams in the nation. During those years she obtained the shortness of her name from Constance to "C", which as of today that is what everybody calls her. I know the Orr's are very proud of their DD not of her athlectism only, but also her scholastic GPA. Constance should only be a rising Junior, but she has excelled in her God given abilties in the smart category also...I'm sure glad that she took after her MOM !!!----LOL !!!

    Good Luck "C" @ Carolina,

    Guru

    no one more deserving

Having known C and her family since she was a little tyke, as she has played on several teams with my DD (C hit first Gran Slam I ever saw... 12-u? 250 ft?!! ). I heartens me to see that she is finally getting some of her "due" on the National Level. Regardless of her amazing natural ability, determination, positive attitude and natural leadership ability, there have been some close minded, ignorant people who were in positions to affect her future that have not given her the recognition she deserves and has worked for. IMO There are several more awards which she certainly had earned on the state and regional level which had been given to others (politics? etc?). And let's not turn this thread into a debate about that. ( I know, you know, I know.....)

But regardless and through it all, her family, Miss Helen, Travis, Crystal and the rest of the family have supported, cheered, and encouraged her with a "no excuses" mentality and refused to let it affect her. and for the most part with a smile on their face. The Orr's are what a family is all about and I respect and salute them. We are proud to call them friends.

Now, that she is a member or our Tar Heel family! We are excited to know that we will get to watch and cheer her on into her college career. And hopefully, I'll get to hang on the fence with Travis and be the first to jump on him when she hits the game winner against whoever.....

You GO Tar Heel!!!! :clapclap::clapclap:We'll be the first in line to get a visor autographed!

    Congratulations!

    OH YEAH

So long as you don't get me in any trouble. Walnut Creek has some of the biggest, tastiest Chili Dogs I've ever had. Even if you have to wait 1/2 hour for them. I'll be looking to see if they have any High Fiber chili dogs this weekend though. Whatdyathink Guru?

My DD finally got the chance to play WITH Constance this summer, instead of against, in the State Games. What a talent this girl is. And what a super family.
    Congrats "C" , very deserving.
    Good luck at Carolina.

I'm sure we will see you some this summer.,

    Brittany Teer & family.

Saw her at the State Games. Constance is the real deal! Quite an athlete! She certainly qualifies for the honor. Yet more proof that NC softball is as good as it gets.
