    I think...

as long as people realize that ALLL of these teams are incredible this thread shouldnt get out of hand. I think that the names of the teams tend to lead to some misconceptions, i think it would be nice to shed some light on some of the other very talented team in the area.

I've recently seen the Upstate Mavericks (from South Carolina) and the Sand Gnats (also from South Carolina) and was impressed with both organizations.

When you say team, (I'm speaking of 16's) the Dirtbags, or S. Charlotte Panthers team night in and night out, because of all their pitching. We (Lake Monsters) as many other 16's struggle to sustain a perfect weekend, simply because we don't have the same amount of quality relief pitching. Starters usually have held their own. On any given day or night, we can beat anyone, just usually not night in and night out. My starter against the Dirtbags on 6/21 at ECU was Tyler Barnette(Hickory) and we were up on them 7-1 in the 5th. His pitch count got to 91 in the 6th,( and he tried to talk me into staying, but he has a bright future) and I pulled him. I did everything I could with the pitching I had left, but it wasn't the same and ended in a 7-7 tie. They started Adam Griffin and came in with Tate Parrish, and those guys would be #1 starters on just about everyone's team. I have tried to get pitching to compare, but lack of resources hurts, as well as most kids that have an opportunity with us or them, 95% of time choose them. I have guys off this message board helping me as well, and they've helped a bunch, and try-outs, but just not the same. Found very high quality players that hit well, play good defense, but just not the same pitching. I went to Coach 27's 15 yr. old Dirtbag tryout to watch and maybe find a "diamond" in the rough, and what I liked, they got. I felt like a comm. college( no disrespect) recruiting against UNC, with everyone being eligible grade wise for UNC and plenty of $ to go around. I've met some fine people doing this though, and met some kids who really play hard to be the best they can.

As long as we do not turn this thread

into a forum to bash any team. There are alot of very good teams in NC. There are alot of very good players. If anyone wants to talk about a particular team then do so. But I dont think anything positive can come from talking about who is better than anyone else on a message board. The kids go out and play and try to win everytime out. And many will get an opportunity to play at the next level. Its not about who has the best team as much as it is about kids getting the opportunity to compete at the game they love.

You ain't kidding, and know I'm a wolfpack fan. I used to umpire a lot, but I'd have to order new equipment now. My other shrunk for some reason. :clapclap:

    I just wish

there was a tournament where all teams from nc had to qualify to be in, maybe if your over a certin number of wins or something so that the top teams would have to play each other making it much more fun for these kids who know each other and would love to play for the braggin rights.
